TIL that there's a #CircuitPython-based firmware for mechanical keyboards: KMK
So for me, a #Python developer (with quite a bit of #MicroPython experience), this made the whole keeb firmware hacking an order of magnitude more accessible. You know, for _really_ customizing stuff, not just editing a DeviceTree file and then wait for GitHub to build my firmware because local development is discouraged (looking at you, ZMK) …

BREAKING!
The Antifa Turtle on #Twitter shared a Twitter API okta leak that shows there is a list of "protected accounts", all of them right wing, who are allowed to break #X Terms Of Services without consequence and includes a list of whitelisted slurs they are allowed to use.
The whistle-blowing Twitter account was suspended by mods shortly after.

#Khanmigo from @khanacademy is the future. Using #AI as a tool for personalized learning is going to change #education for the better, even if there will be some speed bumps along the way (like dealing with students turning in #ChatGPT work).
I’ve been looking for an antenna for a permanent #meshtastic node in my attic and I found this one, along with 5m RF200 low-loss cable.
I know that this setup will most likely render me ‘excommunicado’ in the #meshtasticcommunity: “thou shalt always install thy node right below the antenna!”, but here’s the thing: I want to experiment with different hardware, I want to do some interference measurements at night (ever heard about the ‘Mammotion’ lawnmower which illegally jams 868MHz?) , AND I have a powerful 2m/70cm transmitter close to it, and I don’t want EMI issues on a sensitive 5V line.
Besides, the antenna has 3dBi gain and I measured the cable loss to 1.4dB at 868MHz, so given its better location, the numbers still come out positive 🙂
See that dip near 145MHz btw.? Need to do a test to see how much signal it’ll pick up from my VHF rig - don’t want to damage my LoRa module 👌🏼🙂

The year is 3129. Humanity is extinct. The last LG SmartFridge is desperately emailing its last owner that they are low on orange juice. The satellites that are still left, their orbits slowly decaying over millennia, dutifully relay the message. The automated "away from office" response turns on, as it always does, notifying the refrigerator that it's owner will likely return to the office in 3-5 business days.
Somewhere in what used to be called Ohio, a pack of roombas, their local wind turbines giving out and creaking to a halt, begin searching for the next functional docking station. A washing machine in Argentina tweets: "anyone need to do a load 😏" every Saturday at 1:30 a.m. eastern standard time. The replies are filled with AI thirstposters and their hypebots.
In North America, raccoons have quietly entered the bronze age, while baboons riding domesticated battlewolves rule most of Asia. Unbeknownst to either, the octopi are mastering nuclear fusion. A weather balloon bobs and sways in the upper atmosphere, now almost entirely clear of lingering chloroflourocarbons, reporting conditions to weather stations long since destroyed in World War Five.
The Crab Nation are mostly hermits, but come out to greet their prophet every ten years on the 6th full moon of the year. A lone, curious octopus decides to observe this year's event, peering out at the festivities from her safe haven - the submerged, rusting hulk of an ancient Cybertruck. Then he appears: the hologram of Shia Lebouf powered by MetaAI. He beckons the octopus to follow. The crabs all start chittering excitedly. The time has come to invade Amazon HQ. The crows gather in huge numbers. They need more storage space for their Steam collections.
The @pixelfed app is really coming along, and I'm super proud of the progress!
Looking forward to squashing all them bugs and resolving y'alls feedback 😎

Success. I got my two #CANPico boards to communicate with each other using #MicroPython. The logic analyzer was able to pick up the data from the wire. Thanks, @kentindell for an awesome framework. Next up: hooking everything up to a Toyota Camry.
I am porting/rewriting CC1101 driver to #Micropython, also you can see today obsolete wire wrapping for prototyping. I would later time to achieve similar SDR functionality as Flipper Zero for ISM frequencies but with possibility of scripting in Micropython
I'm working on some new servo and SONAR module code using #MicroPython in my BEAPER Nano prototype. BEAPER Nano is a new #Arduino Nano ESP32 board designed for #education.

How do other #opensource maintainers deal with LLM-generated contributions? I'm starting to see chatgpt-generated pull requests on the projects I maintain and I wonder how others handle them.
I'm tempted to take a strong anti-LLM stance, but at the same time I know that some people (especially beginners) might use LLM to help them write code, and I don't want to scare away newcomers.
Do you know of any projects that have published some policies regarding this?
(boosts appreciated)
