Isn't it kinda weird that #Mastodon gets described as 'left-leaning' because we handle more strickt rules and don't tolerate things like bullying.. It could be me but I perceive this as 'normal'.

I mean you don't call people all kinds of names in a conversation on the street or in the store right? Even if you don't agree🤔

Somehow it feels the (online) standards for treating each other have declined so much over the past few years :sad_cat:

Let them talk, we are a loving and happy community!

@stux A certain segment of society believes that the intolerance of intolerance is “left-leaning” and they are welcome to believe it. We will never be able to reason them out of this position because they’ve never reasoned themselves into it.

intolerance and free speech

@josh @stux it's the idea that being intolerant is an opinion worth fighting for because it seems part of the free speech bandwagon. At least that's what I get out of those arguments, we are having more and more.

intolerance and free speech

@apinae @stux Free speech is great! I’m all about free speech. These people aren’t about free speech, though — they’re about forcing their opinions on you. They want you to respect their choice to speak, but they will not respect your choice not to listen.
