One thing those of us who got here early in the #twitterexodus know that later adopters wouldn't: this place was built on a foundation of #furries.

Show respect to the furries who made this place. And for the Furries: your sweaty choices weird me out a bit, but I'm glad you get to be you here.

"The logic according to Elon on his Twitter Spaces conference yesterday is;
Having a credit/debit card and access to $8/month and a phone is enough to verify you as a human being. It's not meant to verify you as the real "HorrendousUsername420" but verify that you're not a bot"

Question: How the hell does a guy justify donating 129 million dollars into a SINGLE election? Love Of Democracy GTFO, Soros is an investor, he makes his money by outsmarting the next guy.

Then OK, what businesses does he own? Is he involved in businesses that make more money when the Democrats win? No. He's spread evenly across the market.

I think that what's going on here is he's washing money from someone (Putin? Xi Jinping? ...) who could never donate to US politics directly, so they do it through him.

Just watching "Purple Hearts" and the whole plot is based on a story of a girl who discovers she's diabetic and her insurance "doesn't cover #insulin to like, live", so she goes a friend who's a soldier and wants to marry him to get access to his military insurance, and thus to the life-saving drug.

I've said that already, and will say again, sometimes watching life in the US is like watching life on another planet. Or like watching life in socialist countries like #USSR or #Cuba or #Venezuela, which heroically struggle with absurd problems long solved elsewhere in cheap and simple ways.

Socialist countries heroically struggled with supplying food or such luxury goods as toilet paper to shops, US struggle with supplying a drug that is so cheap today, that it's being given away to diabetic people for free in most countries. Not only because that's the right thing to do, but also because it's the best and cheapest way to increase their productivity, if you are into utilitarian arguments.

However, when you stubbornly model your economy after an ideology, it leads to such absurds — and these absurds unfortunately lead to actual human tragedies...

Birdsite collapse moment

This is too funny.

Sometimes, life immitates art. Teslaman has turned birdsite into a joke of a platform.

Biden's too non compos mentis to be that racist. He'll stammer through calling someone a jive turkey coon and his spokesmilf will say he meant Martin Luther King and that'll be that.
We learned with #GamerGate, we learned with @lelandyee aka “Mister Gun Control no actually a gun runner”, the people screaming the loudest are the ones with the most to hide.

“#ComfortWomen?” Korea is a transnational sex trafficking hub for Asia.

@MissLane It was also because of Gamergate I first saw Mike Cernovich's posts. He wasn't as obvious a conman to me then as he is now, same with Milo whom I thought was a really entertaining guy.

Anyway, aside some of the douches within #Gamergate, the worst behavior and real harassment I saw was coming from the anti-GG side. It was then I got my first real taste of what SJWs are and how they operate.

It’s interesting that the biggest communication challenge facing Mastodon communities is explaining that it’s basically a protocol and a network of independent, interconnected servers, which is what the Web, e-mail, even DNS and most of the fundamental services we use on the internet are, and always were.
It just illustrates just how much ‘Big Tech’ proprietary social media platforms swallowed up and walled off, if it’s now difficult to explain what the internet actually is!

In fact the whole #fediverse seems to be doing well, despite the influx continuing at 100,000 people a day. Servers go brrr.

Article on Musk's cultural miscalculations

Great article.

"Musk thinks he bought a tech company, but he’s actually bought a community of users, and that's where its value lies..."

So says Prof Paul Bernal - Professor of Information Technology Law at the University of East Anglia School of Law.
