"If your paper doesn't include basic information to reproduce the work, it's not research it's advertising." Alex J. Champandard
Science & experiments are about knowledge contribution and sharing.
Advertising has long been used by industries to shape and exert control over people and then to make us incapable / unpowered of being indignant and refusing the suffering of others, to deprive us of the power of empathy, to privatize it (cf. Frankfurt school demonstrated and described it).
"Google disables tens of millions of Google accounts every year, as stated in a Dutch Tweakers article by Google Communications Manager in the Netherlands, without warning, giving the recipient a reason why, or providing a way to get it back."
Made a simple #greasemonkey #Markdown Viewer for the browser. Currently only works for the `<p>` tag in the DOM.
Works okay with #mastodon.

Aspirin is not derived from the willow though

Who is at fault here, the developer who pushed the changes or the developer who pulled the malicious code?
Scientists think they have figured out where heavy elements like gold or uranium come from. They hypothesis that they can be created when two stellar objects merge together like neutron stars or black holes.
Assuming this to be true, jewelry made from these kinds of heavy elements is more valuable than ones that mainly focus on diamonds. Because we have figured out how to make man-made diamonds, which takes less energy to make than heavy elements.
Additionally, if one takes it one step further, the Earth is the product of the collision and merger of stellar objects.

Finally some good news from Mozilla.

The hypothesis of our mental speed declining once we hit the age 20, has been debunked. It was thought that once our brain stops growing that our mental speed also declines.
A recent study suggests that the slowness of reaction time of older individuals is due our decline in motor skills and we concentrate in avoiding mistakes. And even after the age of 60, the mental speed only declines gradually.
@neil There are many Firefox forks which would address these issues such as LibreWolf, GNU Icecat, etc.
But the main issue that one needs to consider is the monopoly of Chromium in the web space. Ditching Firefox for a Chromium-based browser only makes this worse, regardless of the one you choose.
The Chromium monopoly gives Google near-total control over web standards, decreases incentives for cross-browser support (e.g, Skype only works on Chromium-based browsers) and would ultimately leave Google as your last-man-standing with ultimate reign over the web. Not really an ideal scenario, is it?
While these Chromium-based browsers may be ungoogled, hardened and have nice slick UIs etc., switching to them will result in a huge net-loss for everyone in the long term.

Scientist have designed a new low cost alternative to the PCR, that is just as efficient though takes less time to get a result which is done via the smartphone. It is called "Harmony COVID-19".
They are currently looking at supplying hospitals and clinics. Then in the second step, bring out home versions. The design was made to be as easy as self-home tests.
This has the potential of reducing the financial and time burden put onto the individual.
Well time to milk those 100€ from various websites... 😂
Update: My Sci-Hub injector has been approved on AMO, so you can download it on Firefox now: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/scihub-injector/
(other browsers can use the userscript)
The original author has taken down his repo, so this is the primarily-published fork at the moment. I intend on maintaining it and merging PRs for a while.
I'm now working on a release that will add several other websites. I'm trying to consolidate code from the other forks to make more available.
Better Beginnings.
Our onboarding flow has been revamped to empower new users!

I am a strong proponent of leaving this planet better behind than when I arrived on it. Thus to get the most bang for a lifetime my key focus is #longevity which I attempt to achieve with #nutrition specifically #plantbased.
Longevity is good and all as long as you are not frail and weak. Ideally would be to die young at an old age. Thus I incorporate tactics from #biohacking and #primalfitness. Additionally I am an advocate of #wildcrafting, which is a super set of #herbalism.
Studied many fields of science like maths or statistics, though the constant was always computer science.
Currently working as a fullstack web developer, though prefer to call myself a #SoftwareCrafter.
The goal of my side projects is to practice #GreenDevelopement meaning to create mainly static websites. The way the internet was intended to be.
On the artistic side, to dub all content under the Creative Commons license. Thereby, ideally, only using tools and resources that are #FLOSS #OpenSource. #nobot
