The original approach was to have a text field and reuse the list of clubs. This means one would have to use the computed functionality of .

The downside of this option is that in the long run the UX would decline, since the list has the potential to be very long and thereby creating increased scrolling time.

Not just the amount of information should be considered, though also the style of .

In the past, I wrote many AARs (After Action Reports). This is quite a simple task, since one is naturally looking back and writing in the past.

To challenge myself this time around, I chose the IAR (In Action Report) approach. The difficulty is that one is writing in the present tense while looking back onto the past. This makes the grammar so much more fun to deal with.

An interesting observation I am noticing while working on a long form article. The article in on an endurance event that lasted for 9 hours. Currently, I have spent at least 9 hours to get the first draft.

The fascinating part is that I will be spending more time about the event than actually participating. This highlights how much information was introduced in those nine hours that it needs more hours to process it.

The logistics are poorly constructive at the Kelenföld station, especially at the head of the tram lines 19 and 49, since there is no visual ticket vending machine.

The closest one is about 150m north on the east side of the tracks, which I would have seen on the map if I would have used it. Though instead I asked a fellow citizen that happily helped me out with purchasing the ticket at the vending machine by the suburban rails.

Although the first impression was poor, the friendliness of the fellow human evened it out.

This issue would have been fine if the bus station actually had which feels like a lacking feature throughout the city. Neither Kelenföld nor Népliget bus station have it.

The good thing is that across the street of Kelenföld is a shopping mall Etele Plaza which has free WiFi.

First impressions of and extended onto is that my mobile roaming data is not working.

Eventually the network will register the account and only the one account on Android. As soon as one switches the account the network is gone as well.

This issue is independent of the network provider one chooses.

One thing that feels like it’s lacking is up-to-date data e.g. construction sites.

This might be one hint of a vibrant mapper/community in the area.

Further in Wien, someone had a mapping frenzy and mapped almost every tree that typically would be part of a tree_row.

Additionally, building values vary in quality. Lots of detached are tagged as house, also apartment is tagged as residential.

The data varies in with some sectors quite well detailed and other sector lacking in information.

One thing that jumps out, at least in sector 13, is that there is no real system how sidewalks should be mapped. Some highways are so bad that they use both systems. Meaning putting the sidewalk details onto the highway and mapping it separately.

(310/365)

pedestrian routing is quite well in and they typically use on highway binding for sidewalks.

Two things popped out while in Budapest:

  1. The cleanliness is really good, especially very little vandalism like stickers on poles or graffiti on buildings, at least in the inner city.
  2. The quality of POIs is quite high. All benches that I passed were already mapped.

Another aspect is seeing a cherry tree in the wild.

One can understand not knowing the typical rind pattern or the leaf shape, but not being able to identify the fruit on the tree is mind boggling. It should be mentioned that many of them are not fully ripe and the shades range from green/white to red, there are some that are deep cherry red moving more towards the brown spectrum.

Also understand the hesitancy of trying them, which I would haven’t done also in their shoes if one is not familiar with the vegetation.

In general, only eating a small dose of an unknown plant usually doesn’t have an adverse effect.

Another example is that while shooting a water reflection scene, it was realized that one could not do it efficiently from the shore, since the camera would always be in the shot. Thus, I suggested that one of us could go into the water and do it.

The immediate feedback is that one didn’t bring extra clothes or a towel.

I am just imaging how complex do people imagine the task?

I just took off my shoes and socks, rolled up my pants, and got in.

It wasn’t too bad. The water temperature was similar to the air temperature, around 12°C.

After reading the book The Comfort Crisis by I am questioning how comfortable I have constructed my life, though it is not as bad as the comfort as many city dwellers live on a daily basis.

The most prominent is the complaining of basic inconveniences like the weather.

“It is too cold/hot/windy/wet”

This is probably one of the easiest to plan for especially if it is only a couple of hours and one isn’t changing the location too drastically.

Considering the movement with ’s one only gets two vertical handles compared to and its filler which has a whole arrangement of vertical, horizontal, and side handles. This can make the carrying of such bags more tedious depending on its fullness amount.

To ease the task of carrying one can acquire and use . This has the benefit of freeing up one hand and giving a larger area to hold onto. Plus it can also mark the sandbags when participating in a competition.

In details, let’s say there is an 80#, 60#, and 40#.

The 40# is the lightest so this one will be used as perpendicular one. Thus take the time to make stable enough to stand alone by dropping/smashing it against the short side to create a bigger area.

Next take one of the either two and put it onto the shoulders. Squat down some what to grab the 40#. Move a distance of e.g. 25m and place the 40# gently so that it’s still standing. Drop the heavier one.

Go back to grab the other one and walk up to the 40#, pick it up and do some more distance before placing the 40# and dropping the heavier.

Go back and repeat the process. This way the 40# is always being carried.

A typical ABC challenge is to move three sandbags with various weights over a distance and having the caveat that one cannot carry more than two bags at a time.

The trick with ABC is to place the lightest bag perpendicular so that one does not need to waste much energy to bend over to pick it up. While leap frogging and switching between the other two bags.

There is one formation that can ignore a lot of the pulling and tugging motion, which is the stretched formation.

The idea behind this one is to pull the configuration apart. The upside is one can be quite fast if the squad head is fast. Though the downside is that one quickly loses power.

Another checkpoint has been reached!

In the last 50 entries most were pre-written and most were part of a thread. The flexibility given in 200 was definitely a game changer and reduces stress quite much.

One thing that I have noticed, although the entry already existed, the act of posting was the bottleneck.

Another thing that I changed is the way that the entries are bundled. Initially wrote each entry separate and then linked them after the fact.

Now instead I write them all in the same file as long as they are part of the same thread. This eases the publishing, the writing, and linking. Additionally, with this method, I can add references to the end of the file and be one step closer if I ever choose to publish long form.

Well, off to another 65 days to complete a typical year. Technically this year would have 366 days.
