this env var madness got popular with docker. sane software used (and still uses) config files or commandline flags. yes i know, flags leak in the process list, but containers were never secure in the first place. secrets should live in files anyway, as unix file permissions are at least remotely secure and permit a mental model.

@skadi yip. if it requires a bespoke docker environment, it's shit. the bright side of respecting this warning sign is: you don't put your eggs into a basket with a broken handle ;)

my vote is in the middle: that they probably collect stuff to use as leverage and to make an example of if people even dare to move.

another idea is that they do putins playbook of getting at least the leaders sentenced to harsh terms, but the supreme leadership in it's unfathomable wisdom and grace will pardon them afterwards.

@velartrill the bio is a gem! if my interests were locust style capitalism things like AR etc. i'd be against gpl too.
