I was introduced to Emacs a long time ago, probably about 10 years ago. But every time I approached it, I was repulsed by something. It was only at the end of 2019 that it really caught my eye and I started writing my configuration. I like the Lisp family of languages and so it was very good practice for me. But going straight to Emacs and abandoning other IDEs and editors didn't work out. I always lacked something and improved my config more and more. And only a couple of months ago, I was able to finally switch to Emacs, as the configuration is apparently ready for full use. Also I think my transition is connected with the fact that I don't have to write so much code, and many IDE features are unnecessary for me, as the projects are mostly not big.

This is my way to Emacs!

Ich wünsche mir tatsächlich sehr viel weniger LAUT, ich poste das nur, weil der Grundgedanke auf den Punkt trifft.

Das LAUT ist unerträglich und unheilsam.

> An enzyme combines these gases to form methane. Bovaer® is a feed supplement that suppresses the enzyme, so less methane gets generated.

i'm sure nature put that enzyme into cows by accident and man totally doesn't fuck up things by suppressing said enzyme. what could go wrong!!11

A 1400 year old Ginkgo Biloba tree shows every November an autumn display, shedding his golden leaves, that attracts thousands of people from all over the country. The ancient tree grows behind a Buddhist Temple next to Gu Guanyin in the Zhongnan Mountain Region of China.

Species is believed to have appeared several hundred million years ago (fossilized remains have been found) and thought to be extinct, until a specimen was discovered by a German naturalist in late 1600s.

USPOL

The political discourse around Israel's war here in the US is something like:
People: I don't support genocide.
Democrats: I will say whatever it takes to calm you down about this issue.
People: Hey, if you won't take me seriously then I'll
Republicans: Oh hey, I hear you're dissatisfied with that guy, you should vote for me instead.
People: I would never support their current actions concerning Palestine.
Republicans: Same here, Israel isn't going far enough or fast enough! Kill them all!

fu manchu are one of the rare instances of old rock guys not being totally lame 🤙

It's really funny just how poorly this has aged, despite many still treating it like a silver bullet "gotcha".

@genmaicha no, not very much i guess. new thing they're trying is to spin libertarian ideals into being nazi. completely retarded.

@genmaicha honestly it's one and a half party by now. all the major parties do effectively the same politics, AfD larps as being the party saving germany when in reality they _of course_ are as crooked and corrupt as the other parties.

in the end it's a one party system and everything is complete bullshit.
