vor allem weil relativ klar ist das die leute auf den demos gegen alles (wirklich _alles_!) demonstrieren würden wenn es dafür gummipunkte gäbe.

erst gegen ihre mitmenschen bei corona ("ungeimpfte volksschädlinge!"), dann gegen ihre mitmenschen bei kriegen ("slava ukraini! mehr waffen! mehr krieg! LUMPENPAZIFISTEN!"), dann gegen ihre mitmenschen die für ihre wirtschaftliche existenz die auch unsere ist protestieren ("gieriges bauernpack!"). jetzt gegen eine partei ("staatsbürgerschaft entziehen!") die absolut kein problem darstellt wenn man sich mit der konstruktion des staates brd auskennt.

immer nur gegen gegen gegen irgendwas. nie wirklich für etwas, wenn dann nur als abgrenzung. vielleicht braucht es charakter um für etwas zu sein?

und ich mag die afd nicht mal.

Thanks to a suggestion from @onan I ended up spending some time yesterday scrolling through the black film archive, and specifically their films from the 1910s and 1920s.

I have seen many (though certainly not all!) of the listed films from the 1920s and 1930s, but I had missed the 1910s selections.

What they present from the 1910s is god damn heartbreaking. Beautiful cinematography, lavish title cards, interesting plots, all marred by an almost impenetrable haze of celluloid degradation that makes it nearly impossible to watch.

I've never heard a satisfying explanation for why Britain's ruling class is so fanatically hostile to Russia. The way I see it we lose nothing by being friends with Russia, and have nothing to gain by being enemies with them. The mainstream "neoliberal" consensus on muh economy would even be preferable if that's what they actually believed, but they don't, they believe in sanctioning potential trade partners and driving energy costs up while kill thousands of business for zero tangible benefit whatsoever.
