Tulsi Gabbard, former vice-chair of the DNC, elected representative of her state from 2013 to 2021, and veteran of the Iraq war, is now confirmed as being on a US government terror watchlist. Every time she flies, her ticket has a label "SSSS" which tells the TSSA to thoroughly check her for contraband such as bombs or weapons.
Look, you don't need to agree with her on issues to realize there's something deeply wrong here. No, Tulsi Gabbard isn't a terrorist. She's not going to bring any bombs on a plane. The reason she's on that list is because the process is the punishment and she's being punished for dissenting from the establishment.
And if that can happen, then why should anyone believe anything the government is saying or doing? If they're willing to do something so slimy to one of "their own", why wouldn't they be willing to do worse to their actual ideological enemies?

i think yesterday was the final straw for me.
from now on i won't care for the suffering of anyone who cheered for the oppression that went down during the so called pandemic.
any ill befalling these people is due to the faustian deal they entered out of their own volition. years to correct their behavior with nothing to show. they are deserving only ridicule, never compassion.

A note about using honk file storage. I followed an image bot which I wanted to archive. A magic sql query later, I had a list of file names I could hard link with ln. Eventually cleanup will delete (unlink) the originals in the attachment directory, but the files still exist in my saved directory. This would have been unpossible with the blob store. Stuff like that is the motivation for the change.

@reverend @begsby @linuxnews der linux kernel ist halt GPL. das funktioniert schon ganz gut.
blöderweise denken ja viele inzwischen das BSD oder MIT oder andere permissive licenses total cool und "more freedom" sind weil sie nicht vorschreiben das wieder die GPL (oder eine andere copyleft lizenz) genutzt werden muss.
das ist natürlich kompletter mumpitz. niemand zwingt jemanden anderes GPL software zu verwenden, das ist ein freier vertrag. mehr freiheit geht nicht.
@reverend @begsby @linuxnews ich seh das seh kritisch: solche förderungen erzeugen abhängigkeit vom staat und bringen in zukunft leute davon ab zu spenden, gibt ja die förderung! das wird nach hinten losgehen, wie immer wenn der staat seine griffel drin hat.

In einer ›normalen‹ Welt wären das Dinge, die niemanden mehr erst beigebracht werden müssten. Gibt aber halt zu viele Menschen, für z.B. einzige Werkzeug, das sie im Leben je wirklich mit eigenen Händen nutzen das Essbesteck ist.
