the only way FF could keep any share is by catering to it's userbase, and doubling down on what these people like. everything else is bullshit appeasement to nonexisting people.
it's the same as dumbing down interfaces to make them more easy for the mysterious unicorn user who installed a software on purpose but is expecting the same ui the monopolist has. It doesn't work AND kills the existing user base.
vivaldi does this right imho. it's proprietary, but they don't do one change after another that the users hate.

@DCR it's specifically about this purity spiral phenomen why i wrote about the left only. i don't see this in this way and to this degree with any other group. especially that it's always something new. the current right does things like this as well, but it's limited. maybe they ban books in school libraries in the US etc. they DON'T do things like condemning the stickermule guy for being pro trump and spesking against hate and violence. both camps aren't who i personally like, but the self destructive holier than you thing is pretty unique to the left imho.

only if there is no other "dangerous" opinion in existence anymore they can finally be safe from themselves being tainted and thus destroyed. hence they approve of violence against opinions, in hope the violence will stop before they themselves are the ones targeted by it. it never will stop, of course.
