day ruined.

You people are like Icarus.

You had something which had the opportunity to do a lot of good, but then you had force it on people, and now it's very likely to end up banned just like cocaine or heroin.

Stop feeling bad for yourself, this is your own doing.

Bodily autonomy is a foundational principle of civilization, and you thought that your miracles were SUCH miracles that you could suspend it.

When you play with foundational principles, there are unexpected consequences, and in this case the consequence is that medicine is now political.

You know that no medical intervention is without risk, and when a person comes to you and asks you to proscribe them a medication, they are implicitly accepting that risk.

When little Jonny's parents agree to a medical intervention, and he dies from it, it's a terrible tragedy but it is not a crime.

However, when the medical establishment uses the power of the state to compel them against their will, then it becomes murder.

Now I hear your protest already "that's not murder, it's legal, everything we did was legal". WRONG. You don't get to suspend moral law just by government decree. This is the same (famously bad) defense brought in the Nuremberg trials. It was wrong then and it's wrong now.

Now I get that you didn't WANT to kill Jonny, but you forced something on him against his will, and against his parent's will, and now he's dead and his mother wants justice.

And I can't say she doesn't deserve it.

Right now, she's organizing on the ground, starting parent groups, getting into politics. She's made this her life's work. While you're sleeping, she's organizing to take you down. She's going to win.

I'm sure the thought is crossing your mind that these people shouldn't be able to vote. Just stop. You've done enough damage already. You're not going to throw away the foundational principle that we use elections rather than killing each other in the night.

What you, and all of the other Dr, MD, and PhD usernames on here need, is a big dose of humility. You thought you were God, you fucked around, and now you're finding out.

If you were smart, you'd be arguing for the deregulation of medicine. Scrap the license, let people hire whoever they trust, and let them take whatever they believe will help them, be it vaccines or cocaine.

Of course you're not going to do that because you still think you're God. But your victims are coming for you, they are not going to stop until they have taken over medical regulation. When they do, they will make the rules, and if you don't like it, they'll take your license.

Don't ever say you weren't warned.

The problem is "open source" itself. It was invented after the corporate world started using Free Software and realized they had to get control of it somehow, so they invented Open Source, which implies nothing about the license, only the method of development

Open Source is an amputation of Free Software's fundamental ethics, and therefore, it can be used flexibly anytime corporations want to seem like they share. There is no way to corrupt it because it has no values to corrupt.
