Sorry to whoever runs this account but neolibs don't care about petty things like human rights abuses, causing far right sympathies among the populace, optics, any of that stupid crap, they just want to be cruel to normal people, that's what gets their rocks off, and that's what they'll do until they are physically prevented from doing so.

@lorbeerbund

The total word count of the W3C specification catalogue is 114 million words at the time of writing. If you added the combined word counts of the C11, C++17, UEFI, USB 3.2, and POSIX specifications, all 8,754 published RFCs, and the combined word counts of everything on Wikipedia’s list of longest novels, you would be 12 million words short of the W3C specifications.

I had this dream that instead of search engines we had like dozens of small "index providers" that specialized in different topics and if you wanted to search you could join multiple indexes for your search query to only get relevant results. I'm kinda pissed that this isn't a thing irl.

i think the only form of protest remotely working is sabotage. look how they got fucked by the blocked bridges.

we steal your money, block your bank accounts, threaten to kidnap your children, threaten to kill your pets, and trample you with horses because we're the good guys and on the right side of history
@vriska @sim I think this trucker stuff is really demonstrative because it shows you can do your protest in every way according to the book of respectability and police will still kill you and people who disagree with your cause will still call you fascist
Google is trying to deprecate cookies and per-website passwords, meanwhile HTTP basic auth and built-password managers are a thing

Pretty interesting how HTML 5 doesn't support basic auth and the login panel feels tacked on as an afterthought, almost as if they're working to push developers away from the simple, spyware free solution...
Just saw a Parliamentary Secretary just say "Honk Honk" is code for "Heil Hitler" on social media.

Wow, that's news to me.

@Stridermcperson Any scientist who says, "The science is settled" is clearly an ideologue and not an actual scientist and should be yeeted into space from an abnormally large trebuchet.

had to explain RSS to two fellow gen z-ers

me: its kind of like subscribing for updates on a website, before "following" was a thing.

them: oh, is that something new?

me: actually closed "following" on walled gardens, like twitter, kind of killed out a lot of RSS for our generation, but there are people who still use it and find it handy

them: wait, so i don't need to make an account?

me: no.
