It's like the days of Internet Explorer 6, all over again.

Is this Web 3.0?

Had a conversation with a Ukrainian who recently arrived in Munich, Germany:
UA: Is it true that when you torrent movies here, you can get a big fine?
Me: Yes, that's probable.
UA: Is it normal that I have to wait a month for an internet connection?
Me: Yes, that's normal.
UA: Here I get the same salary as in Ukraine, but my costs are 4 times higher!
Me: What did you expect?
UA: It feel like a slave!
Me: Welcome to the EU!

The bluecheks are threatening to make Twitter a better place by leaving.

"How can I best assist my wife with a career transition?"

Why not just get a new wife that already has the desired career?

I maintain 17 troll accounts on HN. The one with the most has upwards of 2000 karma, and 4+ yrs on the account. I don't want to burn them, so I won't share any more details.

I use them to stir shit up. I use them to spread misinformation about large corporations by providing tales of eyewitness accounts, """insider""" happenings, and by generally being subtly toxic.

Over the course of the past few years, I've maintained an incredibly strict regiment of posting on these accounts. It's safe to say that this is the largest project I've undertaken and probably the one that has contributed the most chaos to the world, as far as I can tell.

The reason I work so hard to make HN a worse place? I don't really know. I don't like the website. I don't like the people there, or their attitudes on things. When I was alt-right, I didn't like how casually they dismissed those viewpoints. Now that I'm Christian-left, I see their platitudes as pitiful masquerading under a banner they don't really appreciate, for causes they don't really care about. It's a twisted form of identity politics at this point, whose only purpose is to rally around misfortunes of the other side, and celebrate even the most trivial successes with extensive dick-sucking conversations and "thought-provoking" comments where someone briefly considers an alternative viewpoint.

For as long as I've used the internet, I've sought out the abnormal crowds and yearned to understand them. I've bullied people, I've doxxed, I've been doxxed, I've even bought things from the darkweb and dealt with that whole undercurrent.

Through it all, I can confidently say, that HN users are the most miserable, waste of space citizens, excluding sex criminals.

I tried pretty hard to stir shit up in this megathread on the front page about Elon buying twitter, but there's actually just so many bad takes and the interface isn't really good for trying to make reddit-style hellthreads where I reply to 50 people individually.

If you use HN and read the comments, you should stop. Get yourself an RSS reader and learn to use that instead.
