not to suck @p 's dick about this but i legit think its good / noble that he does 'sketchy' things like ignore deletion requests + make blockbots flip out + make everyones dms public because i think ppl generally dont know how much activitypub sucks dick. afaict when he does this its p prominent + public knowledge + now everyone knows in the back of their mind that FSE doesnt honor delete requests so now you know thats a thing thats possible so its not a surprise if someone more malicious is doing that somewhere else

this might just be infosec brain damage for me cuz i just always enjoy a good proof of concept

i just realized that the internet as it exists now is unsustainable. Not sure how i missed the absolute reality of that until now.
the era of the free internet as we have experienced it is over. it ended around 2016. it will now inevitably fracture into a completely centralized corporation/government internet, and a fringe, peoples internet.
the corporation/government net will allow the fringe net to exist as long as it poses no serious threat to their power and dominance. but if anything rises to challenge the central net, and is puts internet freedom back into the hands of the people, it will be attacked and destroyed by the corporate state. it will be labeled as “dangerous” to children, or climate, or “our democracy”, or something like that. maybe “ the terrorists”.
the reality will be, that more crime is happening on the fascist net using coded language and such. but that won’t matter. the attacks against the free net won’t be about protecting anything but corporate/state power.

In fact, it’s already happening.

also thinking it might be smart to start backing up certain software stacks to offline repos. we’ve grown accustomed to just being able to google search an irc daemon or xmpp server, find it, download and install it. the reality is, that could change must faster that anyone expects.
maybe time to do some digi-prepping.

BOTG Germany - they actually bought Uniper - not Fortum. The funny part is, that a green Minister (actually the tax payers) bought 3 Nuclear power plants and a few coal power plants near Moscow with that deal, while the same minister (Habeck) shuts down the last working nuclear plants in the middle of the biggest energy crisis for ideological reasons, and boycotts Russian coal at the same time.

@nyx @placholdr @scathach this reminds me of a joke in some ancient joke book from like the 90s that was my nan's house. It had different joke categories (50% of the book was wife jokes) and there was a small "Computer Jokes" section and it had this joke I've never forgotten for some reason
