I've not engaged in this thread, so I think you mistagged me in your reply. But I'll add my 2¢ re: Firefox and Chromium.

I've been a Firefox user since 0.8, but recently switched to Brave. I made the switch partly over the CEO bonus and laying off Mozilla staff.

However vs Chromium, it's also,

1) Less secure:

Social change directly defines the products though, if you put a gorilla in charge of browser you won't get anything done because... Because it's a gorilla

Being logical isn't opposing social change and putting incompetent people as project leader isn't social change, it's just dumb

@atoponce All because Mozilla made an explicit decision to stop supporting embedded Gecko and thereby completely give up the benefits of a downstream ecosystem - which includes any chance at having market share in the long term - a decade ago.

Someone should certainly build an alternative to the Chromium engine, but nobody's managed to actually do it.
