We only see the hype, not the numbers. I take the current slowdown re. #Bard to mean that Google is not seeing a meaningful drop in search volume. There doesn't seem to be the bleeding sense of urgency that was tangible in Google's Paris event two weeks ago. And I'm not surprised: the newly constrained #Bing does not appear to offer much more than, well, Bing.
@boris_steipe Oh I'm sure if there's a change in the status quo it's probably not coming this year, but maybe this decade. Bing & the current #openAI models probably aren't the right solution for "AI search", but maybe there's a place for that soon.
And maybe #Bard does end up working out and Google doesn't lose it's place on top. In that case, great! Then there was some meaningful innovation in the search space. But if it's not #google, it's going to be someone.
