Book signing is this Saturday at Riverside Art Museum! I’m so proud to have designed this book. riversideartmuseum.org/exhibit

So my first big decision: I have defeated renalla so I can go respec and just get on with it, or go farm runes at mohgwyn palace?

Ok, got elden ring working, I'm still in the academy glintstone mines. I remember getting hung up on that war mage, but that's not the terrible part: I absolutely know better and my dumb ass still forgot to level vigor.

So it's been like 8 months since I picked it up (it was a rough year and I still got 60 hours in) but I think I want to go back to playing elden ring. Step one: reinstall elden ring because I haven't opened it for 6 patches and it's just mad at me now.

We should knit him his own sweater, I think.

Ok, so a very cold take I'm sure, but Endless Poetry is Jodorowsky at his most Lynchian, so @MaggieMaeFish is probably also probably partially responsible for my current problem watching this fucking movie.

For no particular reason, I'm watching Endless Poetry, the Jodorowsky autobiography film. So far it's good, but I think @Nyxfears may have ruined Jodorowsky for me.

Like many hwhite people, my family has an almost certainly fictional rumor of a native american ancestor, but my family also has rumors of Jewish ancestors. I'd say they're equally unsubstantiated, but in this case they're a little more specifically Dutch. Anyone else have this?

The real sneak depicted here is in the thread!

@InnerSpaceWolf It wasn't an intentional choice at first, but it got established and kind of stuck. He's mainly green in contrast to Blue who is a deeper shade of blue, and I think it's funny that he mainly IDENTIFIES as "green". Colour is a spectrum, after all.

So I haven't played elden ring in, like, a bunch of months, but I decided maybe playing a little before bed. Instead I had a white screen of death on launch and now I'm reinstalling and it's going to dead-asa take an hour and I think I'm just going to go to sleep.

Dropping in Vue and using it without a compiler is extremely underrated. Combined with axios (or just fetch I guess if you're boring) and you have a genuine modern jQuery killer.

I really want to use the has:() selector! I can't find any good use cases yet! Someone get me a really gnarly legacy app and a truculent pm!

You know, my job is actually pretty great right now. I get to completely dictate the technology and direction of front-end engineering and ux, in a way that will probably spread to the entire company. I also am currently deferring almost all decisions because I still don't have requirements for the first project, and I don't know what the scope of anything will actually be until someone figures out what we're going to actually make, because I'm a goddamn adult and refuse to magic up busywork for my team. Finally, I plan on using the simplest, boringest technology I can possibly get away with because this company has tried not doing that and it wasn't pretty.

I will enact my vision and it will load fast and small and accessibly and reproducibly and I will not be stopped.

And in my secret heart of hearts I really wish someone would just tell me what to do here. This is scary.

I should probably do more and thorough research and turn this article into a talk and pitch it to React/Vue/JS, etc. confs.

@slightlyoff @braindouche In Amsterdam we have this weird combination of a single company that does JS consultancy, JS recruitment (their origin) and conference organization at once, all for “the community”. Complicating and inflating things must really pay off on all sides for them. Some evidence was collected over at twitter.com/RecruitersConf

@braindouche @betsythemuffin @jalcine @whalecoiner Not at all.

It's phrased in terms of retention (what's measurable is what's valued), and the observation is that teams that are already more diverse retain diverse talent at a higher rate.
