I stopped by the oldest house built in #Detroit tonight. However its located in Canada these days. The Park House #Museum in Amherstburg Ontario was originally built in Detroit but moved to Canada when the Americans took over in 1796. The building has marks visible on its logs from when it was disassembled and reconstructed.

I’m an #archivist at a large history museum located near Detroit, Michigan, where I focus on improving access to our archival and library holdings.
I had a first career as a mechanical engineer designing IC and diesel engines for various applications including automotive prototype, racing, stationary power generation, and over-the-road trucking.
Interests include #archives, #libraries, #museums, #GLAM, #jazz, and #UMich sports #GoBlue.
