I was privileged to work on language documentation/analysis for a number of years with elders in the Tok, #Alaska area. Dene languages are intricate and wonderfully expressive. I'll post bits that I know periodically to share a flavor of these special languages. Note: most Alaska Dene languages were not accurately written until 1960s. Every character matters.

@cajun_cheechako Navajo is of course a Dene language, though some remove from Alaska Dene languages. The work of Michael Krauss and Jeff Leer are the more recent (past 60 years) efforts at reconstructing Proto-Dene and beyond to Eyak and Tlingit.
