I'm going to ask the hive mind something even though my hive here is small:

Is it possible to get a clean view in Google Maps? Mac desktop.

I want streets etc. to be labeled, but not every damn taco stand and motel and whatever. Just the streets.

Is this possible?

I know how to turn off ALL labels in satellite view. I can't do that in map view — and why the heck not?

But I don't want to turn off all labels anyway. I want to see the street names, but not the businesses.

Secondary question: Is there some other map app/site that can give me that clean view on Mac desktop?

Thanks, friends.

@kingkaufman on my phone (Android) Google Earth works that way if you choose the 'card stack' (top left) a drop-down menu allows you to choose 'map style', and select 'clean'. It is a satellite view, but might be what you want.

@cajun_cheechako

Thanks. I have an iPhone, but I'm talking about desktop. I want to see the map on a big monitor.
