@cambridgeport90 @Gargron Same we have always done business for most of human history...with people you know.

You won't need targeted advertising when you and your community are no different.

Local. Networked.

The huge money to be had is in the transaction, moving money attracts money.

Good money to be had solving your own goals as probably someone else in your community has same issue and willing to develop transactional relationship for solution.

@cambridgeport90 @Gargron the same way they did business before social media existed. Not everywhere has to be a space for brands. Really, it doesn’t. If you’re selling something even vaguely worthwhile and legitimate, people will tell each other. That’s the nicest possible way I can say it.

the problem with Pocket is that I find myself saving a ton of shit but not actually reading.

@JaneLockwood@mastodon.social Humorous is good. I find that without it, the world would be a … um, rather boring place indeed.

@JaneLockwood@mastodon.social You at least say excuse me? LOL I mean, if it's gonna happen, then, it's gonna happen, but you can at least mitigate the negative effect.

Thanks for reminding me. Web Server erelei will need to be updated.
RT @TerribleDev@twitter.com Can I get "Reasons why I don't use php for 400" twitter.com/geeknik/status/106

@JaneLockwood@mastodon.social It could be a little while, though. Until more applications start to support the federated web, the majority of us will be stuck up there. And then … what about the big corporations? they're never going to change their minds. Just what I was referring to earlier, so if we want to follow stuff we're interested in, then, we'll have to remain, … unless we can create bots which feed the content from the big guns like Microsoft, and others up here without getting busted in the process.

you never have to be sorry for asking for help.

and no one should ever make you feel like you should be.

@JaneLockwood@mastodon.social I'm going to go and read this post now. I need to transition, as well, though I have too much stuff that still relies on Twitter in order to be able to do so at the moment. Same with my YouTube channel; want to move to PeerTube, though I don't think this server allows for all of the videos I have.

RT @Dr_Sprinky@twitter.com: Does anyone know if there is any danger from re-aerosolized nucleotides in the smoke column from #WoolseyFire? Rocketdyne is a site of notorious nuclear contamination. #CAwx

@alexjgriffith I'll have to ask. He tweets on his blog account a lot, but not as much on his personal one. Then again, I tweet on Twitter an inordinent amount as well, though probably because the interface I use is mostly only accessible via the ears, not the eyes.

Is there a #wordpress #gallary #plugin that offers #flickr-style exif data integration? So I want to see images and nice visualised exif data next to them.

@kris I never heard about this? LOL! That's freaking awesome, and I need to take a look? Thanks for this!

I cannot wait for the day that the federated web meets the #.NET framework. There are no options for .NET lovers such as myself currently in existence today. Something like , but written in ASP.NET/ASP.NET core. That would be a big project, though, I know that much.

@alexjgriffith Are there apps that support both? I wasn't aware such things existed?

@aji_sudarmawan@mastodon.social I agree. Definitely. If they get too big, then, they become dis-eased.
