@jgmac1106 @Rovine @jalcine that's definitely one way to put it. Plus, I'm also looking for the challenge of a self-hosted solution, so don't forget that part of it.

@jgmac1106 @Rovine @jalcine I'm trying to understand the purpose of that thing, when there's so many other options out there. I sort of get it, but I sort of don't.

@jgmac1106 @Rovine @benwerd @pfefferle eventually I want to have active directory integration as well. Although I'm actually planning on stepping away from WordPress. Other alternatives work just as well. They don't support this stuff as of yet, but that could be changing rather quickly.

Could someone familiar with npm's registry take a look at github.com/acornjs/acorn/issue ? (In short, people are getting invalid tarballs for old release all of a sudden.)

@jgmac1106 @Rovine I thought of messing with that. The only thing that stops me, is previous licenses for other things that I've purchased, as well as the fact that I want my website to be much more than a blog. I wanted to integrate with a ton of other things, and for that you need more advanced programming. Then again, almost everything I play with has to have advanced integrations. I never learned how to do things in a simple manner.

@cambridgeport90
HTML is always the end goal when it comes to the web, as @jgmac1106 said. How much advanced programming is needed depends on your goal and circumstances. For example for a blog, someone reported WriteFreely using less resource than a static HTML generator. However if you don't have the infrastructure to run the nuts and bolts of WriteFreely, then something as close to HTML as possible would be ideal.

Not to mention, one drink nearly took me down this evening. Like ... knocked me on my ass.

Dang. Looks like I'll miss my @Actifit_fitness opportunity again thanks to my Fitbit needing to charge and I forgot my charger at work. Hell.
