Hello! It's the last day to buy A City on Mars during launch week. Sales this week matter because they get you on bestseller lists, which get you sales and press. SO, if you were thinking about buying, we'd massively appreciate if you'd do so today. <3 https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/639449/a-city-on-mars-by-kelly-and-zach-weinersmith/

Raspberry Pi 5 review – Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm, benchmarks, power consumption, and more
A few days ago I finally went through the Raspberry Pi 5 kit I received last September going through the items and booting it with Raspberry Pi OS bookworm. I’ve now had time to perform more tests to check out the performance with benchmarks and test various features on the Raspberry Pi 5.…

Had to make a hard call on #inkscape 1.3.1, a fix that would cause a very small number of macOS users to have all their user interface be tofu (font not found) had to be reverted because it caused all sorts of regressions for every other macOS user (no italics, much worse kerning)
This is the kind of decision that's hard to make because it condemns a small number of users to effectively not be able to use Inkscape 1.3 at all, but for the grace of many more users.
Sorry rare macOS people!

#MakerAdvent will return for 2023
Never heard of this? I countdown to Christmas by releasing a YouTube video everyday. Each video has a maker flavour to it. We can hack microcontrollers, Christmas decorations and I buy random "stuff" from eBay, Aliexpress and now Temu.
Here is the entire 2022 series to give you an idea of what I will be up to.

Really long day today, but a good one.
It's #Thanksgiving in Canada; I put together an intimate little meal for my loved ones, all based around something different: turkey schnitzel! We all counted our blessings.
Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians!
Also, I spent 3 hours testing the #Gaggia Classic Pro Evo #Espresso machine, getting re-familiar with an old friend. Snapped lots of photos, recorded lots of numbers and thoughts. Thoroughly caffeinated!
Just learned about the new NZ Bookhub website that came online today - you can search for books across independent booksellers, click-and-collect locally or get books delivered - https://bookhub.nz/.
(I try at least 3 independent booksellers before buying overseas so this will add scope, speed up the process and hopefully help me buy more locally...)
