@casualwp I think you might be the first person I've found on fedi who's into mechanical keyboard.
What is your opinion on Cherry Browns?
@sjw @casualwp
Browns are good keys, but Cherry are expensive, though.
Gateron keys are better.
I'm using white Kailh box keys right now.
@camedei456 @casualwp Browns are Reds with sand. Cherry isn't expensive and their switches are shit anyway.
Try some IBM capacitive buckling springs, some 2nd gen SMK clicky, and if you're really lucky you might get to try out some IBM beamsprings.
Don't like clicky? It's okay to be wrong. Want some linear? Micro switch hall effects are probably the best out there but they're hard to find so get some ace pad tech hall effects. Green alps are good too.
You want tactile? Get some Topre, SMK 2nd gen tactile, orange skcm Alps, or if you're really lucky get some Fujitsu tactile magnetic reeds.
@sjw @casualwp
There are more MX keys than just Cherry.
I've used Outemu, Kailh and Gateron.
The tactile Outemu keys are far noisier than Cherry's, Gateron keys are more milky in feel and Kailhua's keys are good unless you want either speed or their box keys.
Kailh's box keys are great (then again, they should be. They're made for gaming cafes after all) and their speed keys are great for fast typists.

You sound like Chyrosran22 :P

The main reason why I didn't get those vintage switches is that they, AFAIK, are usually on the heavier side, and I have weak fingers uwu. (Availability is also an issue, getting stuff from abroad in Taiwan is sorta hard.) (There's also the lack of QMK...)

I don't dislike clicky switches, though I do hate the high-pitched sounds that blues and clones make. That being said, my roommates are probably gonna kill me for using clicky.

I really want to get buckling springs though, even just for the classic-ness of it.

@casualwp @camedei456 Buckling springs feel and sound great. They're not too expensive either.
@casualwp @sjw
Just get a Unicomp keyboard. New ones are like $91 direct from them and you can get USB ones.
@sjw @casualwp
If that's the case, then why is PS/2 connectors on more recent gaming motherboards?
