Current status: Installing Debian 9 on a picture frame.
More fun than sleeping! I'll regret it in the morning though, daughter will see to that...
The frameputer is now hanging on the wall, instead of cluttering up my desk.
This slightly mitigates the obsessive urge to keep tinkering with it. The current to-do list is:
1. Add a power switch
2. Cut the cardboard to reveal more screen (maybe)
3. Unblock the camera
4. Software!
I might also add an RFID reader and a separate controller for the panel, so I can use it as a dumb monitor. Maybe...
Frameputer update...
Screen and camera are unblocked. Bluetooth is working.
The hard drive I stuck in this thing has about 40GB of .mp3 files on it... so this lil baby is officially useful now!
Unfortunately, Rhythmbox is making me angry. Reminding me why I keep going back to nvlc in a terminal on my laptop.
I just want to browse my music collection THE WAY I ORGANISED IT and play entire albums. Is that so much to ask?
So Clementine appears to be a potential solution to my mp3-player woes.
The file browser it has does the right thing and has sensible options. Clicking tracks actually plays them.
Very good, very good!
@comphys I was unaware of this. I must find it immediately!
