should we just leave it open so folks can see how complex the guts of these things are?

@mediaarchaeologylab Thanks. I'm just old enough to remember mechanical adding machines being used in businesses at the end of the 1970s.

One great feature they had was the roll of paper that spewed out as a record of what you keyed in. Some electronic calculators featured that, but not many.
