@truthbait There's another war coming this fall. Watch the clock. It ain't over, it's just beginning.

I think that's kind of an "easy" statement to make right now. There are so many tensions in so many parts of the world, you can just predict war and you'll be right.

@cjd @truthbait

Trump’s so-called “12 Day War” was never really settled — it’s just on hiatus until Bibi inevitably pushes one step too far, given his personality and Greater Israel ideology.

Meanwhile, we’re in the middle of massive global economic, political, & military upheaval. There’s no returning to the old status quo. @truthbait may think American and Israeli bravado solves everything, but he’s about to learn the hard way that the ground is shifting.

I think Greater Israel is gonna happen. But I also think Lesser America is gonna happen too.

@cjd @elston_ Israel just wants the Gaza thorn removed, and to retake Judaea and Samaria (what Arab colonizers call the West Bank). They also want to destroy Iran’s ability to project proxy force. So far they’re CRUSHING it. But maybe Elston is right. The Muslims are just biding their time while Israel annihilates their entire jihad infrastructure, waiting for just the right moment to deliver that mythic devastating blow after just enough muj have been slaughtered. It’s nice that he has a dream.

I don't apply plebeian morality to geopolitics, that's just stupid. If Israel does what benefits Israel, that's just being a normal country.

Where I think there will be tension is that Israel needs manpower to build their country, and the easiest way to get that is by convincing Jews to move there. The problem is nobody really wants to move to the desert. So the most straightforward way to convince Jews to move is to make them feel unsafe where they live. So paradoxically, Israel benefits from antisemitism in the west.

@cjd @elston_ I share this exact concern. But they also need a thriving diaspora that sends cash. So there are tensions in that area.

@truthbait @cjd You talk a big game but are just too chicken shit to join your tribesmen in Israel. You want to stay back in the comfort of secular life while justifying your cowardice as some kind of 'I can be more useful here'. I've spent more time in Israel than you ever have.

@truthbait @cjd Not of that persuasion. But I think you and your Log Cabin Republicans buddies would feel at home in Tel Aviv. Most homos in middle east since Sodom & Gommorah.

@elston_ @cjd Huh. And here I thought you said secular comfort was to be had in the US. Make up your mind, Gomer.

@truthbait @cjd

Israel is schizo country with more factions than univ. philosophy dept. You've got ultra-Orthodox Haredim studying Talmud 24/7, throwing rocks at Sabbath violators, & treating military service like it's radioactive. Then there's secular Tel Aviv crowd sipping craft cocktails at Pride parades, acting like they're living in Berlin. Zionist settlers are busy sacrificing red heifers & drawing up blueprints for 3rd Temple while manning checkpoints. Where do you fit? Pick yer poison!

@elston_ @truthbait @cjd You left out "Palestinians" who stayed in Israel during the 6 day war and are citizens. And Messianic Jews. Those are large groups. There are probably more. (Christian missionaries living in Israel - don't know how large.)

I had a character limit....so couldn't include everyone. Blame my instance.
