@freemo My daughter and son-in-law got the sino-vac (non mRNA). They wouldn't have gotten anything, since Covid is not dangerous for healthy young people - but they were required to get something because they were pilots. So the Sino-vac essentially gave them Covid.

@freemo The problem is that the mRNA shots were called "vaccines", and that is what "anti-vaxxers" are protesting against. It was never against real vaccines. At the RFK level, there is protest against *untested* vaccines - essentially all real vaccines developed since 1986, when Congress absolved Pharma of liability for vaccine injuries. Before 1986, each vaccine went through about 5 years of testing. Now, new vaccines (e.g. "flu" vaccine) goes through at most 5 days of testing.

In the case of flu, it is similar enough to previous vaccines that new vaccine injuries are unlikely (and there has been no increase). But more novel new vaccines, like the RSV is more worrisome. Hopefully, while there was only days of testing before release, there are non-fraudulent records kept of injuries as it it used (since there is no liability).

@fuknukl The best is to make your own cloud. You need 2 or more sites. A small business often has 2 locations - some services can be located at a friendly competitor (e.g. DNS secondary). An individual might have techie friends or family living in a different area.

DNS (when you run it yourself) has mirroring built in, with primary and secondary authoritative servers.

SMTP has multiple MX which can queue mail while the primary site is down.

PostgreSQL has replication.

DRBD can mirror all writes to a volume to another computer. While this can be a lot of bandwidth for a WAN, I've used it with great success. The corporate sponsor has a paid product that queues a bunch of writes and tracks order (to prevent out of order writes at the dest) - this helps manage performance.

@wy7usa The law of Moses, which Shariah is modeled after, calls for stoning BOTH partners in adultery. Does Shariah actually only call for stoning the woman? Or is this a case of selective enforcement - like the Pharisees in Jesus' time. They brought a woman "caught in the very act of adultery" to be stoned, but not the man (likely a Pharisee ...).

@elston_ They're all technically true. What they all leave out is the "civilian shield" policy of Hamas. "Eliminating [Hamas] terrorists" inevitably kills lots of civilians by design. By putting their military installations in, under, or near hospitals, mosques, schools, etc.

Civilians are suffering, so people send them aid. Hamas "guards" the aid and appropriates it for their military.

Israel is not blameless either - they helped install Hamas to get rid of PLO (who were getting annoying with their staged massacres).
