Welcome on board of the NJ 403 an international train as they used to be. Pulled by Vectron composed of SBB, DB and ÖBB cars, a complete mix of mostly seatings cars, few couchettes and NO sleepers 😭
I’d show you off the couchette vs the sleeper but I got downgraded… so this is my cabin now, a 6 bed couchette
Top bunk? Lots of storage but i am 182cm and… cannot fit (my head is still up against the wall)
Bottom one… I just fit… this will be the one where I sleep i guess… do need to put up the middle bed or I lose a lot of width…
Personal opinion: middle gets no benefits
Normally I should also have some water etc however i did not now… good thing I always travel with emergency safe food which includes water to take my meds

Toilet review: clean, nice work with colors and fake window. It is on the small side however.

Just one tiny fact for the road… the sleeper staff and catering, bedding etc isn’t done by ÖBB but by Newrest.
Newrest is what via 100 acquisitions became of… Compagnie internationale des wagons-lits! That’s right somehow they survived over more than 150 years dong the same thing…Georges Naegelmeakers would be proud (but also not…)

So… I heard rumours that nightjet coffee is the worst of all trains… however this car is owned by SBB and seems to have more room to hold an automatic coffee machine than passengers…
And if the Swiss do one thing well(but trains) it is automatic coffee machines
So how is it… well not great, not terrible… definitely had worse even outside trains! Would drink again? Yes.

Well it seems delay and class changes are common enough it is an option on the ÖBB site
