Great to be invited by the to talk about the Catapult network and how our organisation engages with academia. We talked about our STEM outreach programme to schools in Wales and our successful undergrad and PhD schemes.

FINALLY cracked on November 24 and turned on the central heating this morning. 💸

In some ways, Mastodon feels like Twitter for me all over again. It's a fresh learning curve for a social media platform. In a glass-half-full spirit, I view this as an exciting challenge.

Day three of vertigo. I feel fine sitting in bed with my head perfectly still. It all goes to pot when I have to move or do anything as simple as walking in a straight line.

Any tips for recovering from vertigo imbalance? I've been suffering some inner ear thing for the last three days. Any head movement faster than a snail's pace results in a trippy experience, and I'm walking a bit like I'm drunk without the fun aspect of the alcohol.

I'm working for the Compound Semiconductor Applications Catapult, a non-profit RTO (Research Technology Organisation) tasked to help UK based companies adopt and innovate in next generation compound semiconductors. We work with industry and academia through collaborative R&D and commercial projects to safeguard and create new jobs, generate IP and help stimulate GDP for the country. I'm also a STEM ambassador in training for schools in South Wales (where our innovation centre is) but you can thank the pandemic for my limited engagement in that department!

Still don't know how this works properly. Why can't we have a mastodon.social account as an example?
