These two podcast episodes do a good job of discussing how and why we should do a better job of thinking about faith, government, and politics:

Politicians haven't changed.
1 Kings 21:4-16 (paraphrased)
Ahab lay in bed sulking & refused to eat. His wife Jezebel asked him, “Why are you so sullen?”
He said, “Because Naboth will not give me his vineyard."
Jezebel said, “Is this how a king acts? I’ll get you the vineyard.”
She wrote in Ahab’s name to the nobles:
“Seat Naboth in a prominent place but seat two scoundrels opposite him to say he has cursed God & king. Then kill him.”
As soon as Jezebel heard Naboth was dead, she said to Ahab, “Get up and take possession of the vineyard. Naboth is dead.” And he did.

Measles was eliminated from the United States in 2000. We recently un-eliminated it, which has now led to cancellation of some of my kids' activities. The failure to maintain measles elimination status is a national embarrassment.
Disclaimer: I understand that medical decisions are highly individual and there are many things parents must consider in the care of their children.
Opinion: "My body, my choice" is a ridiculous slogan.
