Hmm, I've gotten pretty good coverage of infosec here but clearly not enough camberville news... https://twitter.com/CambridgeMAFire/status/1621950620331556871
@eichin News is saying that the chuck of concrete knocked off the garage and fallen on the glass atrium weighs 10,000 lbs. You'll notice said chunk of masonry, after impacting the structure from at least three floors of drop is hanging there on the skylight framing, which has buckled, but is still holding it.
Who tf designed that thing? Can we give them a medal? The responsible parties should never need to buy their own beer as long as they live.
My most sincere best wishes to the poor bastards who need to figure out how to get it down from there. I spent some time squinting at Google Maps' satellite view, and I can't see where there is to even place a crane that could get to it.
@eichin @dentalflossbay
I hadn't realized there was enough clearance inside the garage to do that.
Isn't that the ground floor?
"Just"! It took two of them, synchronized. I am very impressed and if you find video of them doing it, I would like to see it.
@dentalflossbay @siderea Oh, I missed something obvious: the glass pyramid is right up against the garage itself :-) https://twitter.com/MBTA/status/1622300645792301057 they just used a pair of telehandler-lifters, from the 2nd floor (you can see the sign in one of the pictures https://twitter.com/MBTA/status/1622300645792301057/photo/2 )
