You have the seed of joy in your heart. Place the soil of willingness around it! Magic may happen.
Meanwhile, here in the north, the Yukon River is slowly freezing. From the mistful scenery of this delightful place in the cold, I am sending joy, hope and positivity.

Another flabbergasting Mastodon fact: if you're using your browser (not an app on your phone), you don't *have* to use the web-interface on your Mastodon instance. You can use another if you wish. Here's a screenshot of the Pinafore frontend, running directly on https://pinafore.social/ - a static website that simply does the API calls for you, and presents them to you. If you prefer, grab the source code on GitHub and host it yourself via Docker or running it directly with node.js ... amazing freedom of choice to suddenly have #mastodon #opensource #fediverse #pinafore
Friendly #Mastodon tip of the Day 2
Filters are your best friend. If you don’t want content about Elon Musk , go to Preference > Filters and make one for "Musk".
Or #Twitter. Or anything you don't want to see.
Those posts will be hidden, and filters can be time-limited. So if you just want to filter out football chat during the world cup, you can do that.
🔃Reblog and follow me for more daily tips.
I feel, as part of my initiation into this space, I must talk about my love of #Medieval elephants.
Yes, you heard me. You see, though bestiaries were very common in Western Europe, elephants were not.
So things like this happen.
"SO... lion body... got it, cloven hooves, okay, big ears and dead bird eyes... long snake face... PERFECTION."
On my 3rd app of the day for Mastodon and quite liking #metatext
Read about the young (29) founder of Mastodon, why he created it, and the surprisingly effective way it isolates hate groups.
Are you thinking of switching servers?
I moved from .social (great, but enormous!) to the friendly waters of .ie (highly recommended, people here are lovely). If you've just set up an account, though, it can feel mystifying.
I wish I'd found this *enormously* useful post by @djnavarro first. See this part on migrating to a new instance:
