USS Vincennes Shot Down Iran Air Flight 655 - 1988 | Today In History | 3 July 18
On July 3, 1988, I was the head of The Masjed Soleyman Greater Project..driving to go to Masjed Soleyman Dam (previously named Godar-e Landar) on the Karun river when I heard on the news  that US warship just shot down an Iranian passenger plane, killing all 290 onboard, including 66 children I knew one of the family a loving family. After this killing...The captain and his crew were hailed as heroes of war US endless wars..the captain was later on awarded legion of merit by the then-President George Bush Sr.
