➽ ➜⇢➤Libra: Facebook Wants to Control Your Money
Facebook - backed by some of the largest banks and corporations on Earth - seek to create a global digital currency and reassert Western dominion over the global economy.

November 30, 2019 (Tony Cartalucci - NEO) - Many are probably already familiar with US-based social media giants like Facebook and Twitter carrying out sweeping campaigns of censorship executed in line with US foreign policy objectives. landdestroyer.blogspot.com/ New Eastern Outlook itself was deleted off of both networks - just one among many thousands of accounts wiped out in a virtual information war.

Many are also probably aware of how Facebook in particular has trampled the privacy of its users, manipulated users unwittingly through involuntary experiments and controls what many people around the globe see while online - most of the time without users even realizing it.

But imagine instead of just silencing and marginalizing opponents or controlling the information the public has access to and thus manipulating the public itself, Facebook was also able to control the very currency people use in their day to day lives.  Its control over the public, both within the US and beyond, would be unprecedented.

The ability to control both information and money would be a potent tool, enhancing Facebook's already deeply disruptive and abusive behavior as well as the much larger corporate-financier interests Facebook works with and for.

Enter Libra
Earlier this year Facebook announced its own currency called Libra. It is based on blockchain technology, billed as a "cryptocurrency," and aims at dominating banking and commerce in much the same way Facebook already dominates social media, messaging and in general, the flow of information.

There is no doubt that the same cooperation Facebook has provided the US government and the interests that dominate its domestic and foreign policy in controlling and manipulating public opinion around the globe, stifling alternative news, and even overthrowing governments will translate directly into a similar pattern of abuse through its desired control over a global currency.

Unlike hard currency which does not know in whose hands it resides and thus is unable to discriminate against its holder - Libra not only allows Facebook to know whose hands its currency is in, but how much of it is there, what it is being used for - in addition to all other personal information Facebook has access to. This not only allows for an obvious extension of Facebook's already well-known politically-motivated abuses - but also gives Facebook the ability to target users who may pose as competition to Facebook or one of the many larger corporations Facebook works with or for.

Imagine Facebook carrying out a similar campaign to their current one of political censorship, but with an added monetary component - not only removing the West's political opponents from their social media network and effectively silencing them, but crippling them financially by freezing their accounts and denying them access to the massive digital global economy they hope to create and control through Libra.

While US politicians and regulators appear to be obstructing Libra's rollout, the truth is that many of the very interests these politicians and regulators work for are directly involved in Libra's creation.

➽➜⇢➤How Billionaires Become Billionaires
America has the greatest inequalities, highest mortality rate, most regressive taxes, and largest public subsidies for bankers and billionaires of any developed capitalist country.
In this essay we will discuss the socio-economic roots of inequalities and the relation between the concentration of wealth and the downward mobility of the working and salaried classes.

Contrary to the propaganda pushed by the business press, between 67% and 72% percent of corporations had zero tax liabilities after credits and exemptions … while their workers and employees paid between 25 – 30% in taxes. The rate for the minority of corporations, which paid any tax, was 14%.
According to the US Internal Revenue Service, billionaire tax evasion amounts to $458 billion dollars in lost public revenues every year – almost a trillion dollars every two years by this conservative estimate.
The largest US corporations sheltered over $2.5 trillion dollars in overseas tax havens where they paid no taxes or single digit tax rates. globalresearch.ca/how-billiona

It is reprehensible that authors are continuing to write text books with such a Eurocentric focus. What is even more troubling is that educators are either ignorant about the subject or administrators are playing too hard at being “sensitive.” As a teacher for 40 + years, I have always included our country’s unequal, often cruel, treatment of different races and cultures in my lessons. Children are more capable of recognizing mistreatment than we give them credit for, and their questions and ideas are a great starting point for allowing them to see patterns of behavior in the past and introduce solutions for the future.

They can’t erase the tears from the land. The blood will forever cry out from all of nature. The more they try to cover it up the they will be haunted by this horrible thing they did. Pilgrims invaded their land. And murdered their people. Took the land from the Indians ,and called it theirs. Then our government came in and removed the indians, and made worthless promises to the Indians over and over up till today, they still are lying to them.
No, the trail of tears will never be forgotten. And their blood will haint American’s forever.
Patricia They can’t erase the tears from the land. The blood will forever cry out from all of nature. Beautiful sadly if travel to Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen,.. no one can erase the tears from there either…Monsters are running the show..

The trail of tears. Was the nicest way to say walk from one end of the country to the other. If you ever played the game Oregon trail where you die most of the time Along with your family. It was exactly like that but in reality they were erasing us, even now they erase us. The DNA companies walk around the fact they dont have enough original native American blood to compare it to. We had our culture erased then our lands then set off to die. We havent completely died out but very few of us can even say were are 100 percent Cherokee or Apache ext. I have the knowledge both my grandmother and grandfather came from neighboring villages in the mountains of Gatlinburg TN. We are still allowed with proof and permission to be varied in the bariel grounds but can not hold any ceremonies there. Some of The natives on the reservation think that is where they came from. I wish for my daughter to know the strength of nature how intune with it our ancestors were but I have so little to pass to her. All because we decided to help the pilgrims, even invented the alphabet we use today to make it easier to understand eachother. We were given what back?

As everyone knows, the Trail of Tears is a collection of routes the Native Americans followed when they were forced out of their traditional homes, near the east of the Mississippi river.  It is estimated that by the end of this journey, sixty to ninety percent of the original population was dead.
This despicable rewrite of history quotes, “The first nations people’s agreed to move to different areas to make room for the new settlements”. This is anything but good for our young learners, who will be in the end, lied to.

Ali-R G There is an odd sense of permanence and immortality when it comes to the lives of Western governments. It's as if at most only policies can be changed, but the frame of these governments will always remain. Protests have an entirely different meaning in the West than they do in Eastern countries.
Mary B It's true that U.S. police received surplus equipment from the military and it's scary. I confess I haven't read the article yet but my answer to the question in the headline why people haven't risen up? People are working all the time just to make ends meet and survive. Student loans and medical costs keep many people in economic survival mode. Media is under more and more corporate control and they don't have time to try to investigate what's really going on. And the national security state contributes to self censorship - many people won't admit it but they are afraid to express political opinions. And we do not have fair elections - the system of campaign finance corrupts politicians.

START→The Rise of Militant Religious Right in Latin America The recent coup d’état in Bolivia that overthrew President Evo Morales was not merely a standard right-wing putsch aided and abetted by the US Central Intelligence Agency but also placed into power politicians affiliated with a rising fundamentalist Protestant movement in Latin America that can be termed “Christo-fascist.” Many of the far-right and out-of-the-mainstream Protestant sects that have gained power in Guatemala, Colombia, Brazil, and, now, Bolivia have decried traditional Roman Catholicism in Latin America as heretical to their religious ideology and even pro-Communist. As for mainstream Protestant religions, the fundamentalist sects view them as hopelessly liberal, as well as heretical. strategic-culture.org/news/201

→Nigel Farage threatens to sue Led By Donkeys under EU law
Led By Donkeys offer to sell thebrexitparty.com to Nigel Farage for a £1m donation to the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants.
We reported how billboard pranksters and hypocrisy exposers Led By Donkeys bought the website “thebrexitparty.com” when Farage launched his new party before he remembered to register his web domain.
They have posted some of the things Nigel Farage has said which he would rather you were not aware of. Such as his distaste for the NHS in its current form.
Led By Donkeys are now offering to sell the website to Nigel Farage for over a million pounds.
Led By Donkeys said the entire fee, which will increase by £50,000 each day, would be donated to the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants.
The move comes after Brexit Party lawyers contacted Led By Donkeys asking them to remove their logo from the site. The party said the campaign group is refusing to transfer the domain name, which is similar to their official site “thebrexitparty.org”.
Ironically, Led By Donkeys said that the Brexit Party was threatening them under EU law.

→What does this tell us about our culture?

Record inequality and corporate profits are what media call a ‘strong economy’
If you’ve been keeping track of corporate media coverage of the U.S. economy over the past several years, you might have noticed a contradictory pattern. You’ll find that corporate media make ubiquitous references to a “strong economy,” while simultaneously providing many reports on the increasingly impoverished and precarious working class alongside the continuously rising fortunes of the rich.
Last month, a New York Times report (10/20/19) exemplified this seemingly bizarre practice when it wondered why so many workers are striking when we apparently live in such a “strong economy,” because the piece also discussed how “today’s strikes are fueled by a deeper sense of unfairness and economic anxiety.”
Even though corporate media are now warning us not to be too complacent because of a potential imminent recession and slowing GDP growth (CNN, 8/18/19; Wall Street Journal, 10/30/19), references to a “strong economy” and an “economic recovery” from the Great Recession still abound. mronline.org/2019/11/21/record

On 13 November 2019, as part of its deadly attack on the people of Gaza, Israeli armed forces bombed a building in the Deir al-Balah neighbourhood of Gaza City. That strike killed eight people: Rasmi Abu Malhous (age 45), Miriam Asoarka (age 45), Yoseri Asoarka (age 39), Sim Mohamed Asoarka (age 13), Mohand Malhous (age 12), Moad Mohamed Asoarka (age 7), and two unnamed toddlers. Israel’s armed forces said that it had targeted an Islamic Jihad commander, although everyone in the neighbourhood said that no such commander lived either in the building or in the area. ‘This was a very simple, poor family, who lives from hand to mouth in a tin shack, with no water or electricity’, said a neighbour. ‘They lived off herding sheep’. These things are not happening by chance but are a direct result of planned chaos. →The ‘third force’ challenge to democracy in the Middle East, by Amir Muhammad Esmaeili
PUBLISHED ON 16 NOV 2019 BY CCHS
‘The Third Force’: The Main Challenge for Democracy in the Middle East
Amir Muhammad Esmaeili is a political columnist and author. His research interests include Middle East and North African Studies, International Relations and foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He has been cooperating as an expert and analyst in many Iranian and international research institutions, news organizations and newspapers. His recent book entitled “Abortive Trust”, illustrates the history of treaties broken by the US.
Two key points should be considered when we are talking about the recent unrest in West Asia, as neglecting each of them can bring about destructive costs for the nation-states. Although the demands in both countries have to be taken to account by their governments, neglecting a third force which is incompatible with their national interests will lead to irreparable cost.
Iraq has been faced with many crises in the political, economic and social spheres since fall of Saddam Hussein 2003. Perhaps one of these crises is enough to lead to the collapse of the political system in another country. In fact, the current situation in Iraq can be described as a domestic stabilization process after the security challenge caused by ISIS.
There is no doubt that the Iraqi people have real demands and these demands must be fulfilled in the frame of the Iraqi Constitution. Meanwhile, Iraqi Shiite authority Ayatollah Sistani also has endorsed these demands and their fulfillment by current Iraqi government.
As the Middle Eastern thermometer, Lebanon is experiencing other situation that is slightly different from Iraq. The protests in the country go back to the planned taxes on online phone calls such as WhatsApp. However, after a while, the Lebanese went deeper and they called for some government reforms. In this case, there is no doubt that the demands must be considered appropriately within the frame of the law.
As discussed, if we accept that the demands of the people in both countries, each of which are democratically structured, must be addressed, we must not overlook a tangible reality in West Asia. West Asia has always been seen as a strategic area by foreign powers because its developments have the potentials to play a crucial role in international politics. In other words, when we talk about developments in West Asia, the role of foreign destructive forces should not be ignored.
Some analysts and foreign policy experts insist that Iraq and Lebanon are “practicing democracy” in their countries! What has been overlooked by these analysts is the presence of a third force incompatible with the interests of the states and nations of the region.
Even though the yellow vests protests have failed to fulfill their demands after weeks of demonstrations in France, perhaps one of the most democratic countries, but it should be noted that there is no strong incompatible third force seeking profit. In fact, France is moving in the liberal-capitalism mainstream, and neither the other capitalist countries nor the mainstream media like to tarnish the image of this ruling system.
The situation will be different for any other country that chooses a different solution other than accepting capitalism. The situation is significantly different for countries such as Iraq and Lebanon because they adopted a confrontational stance against capitalism. This incompatible third force tries to show off itself in the line of the social demands, but after a while imposes itself and its desires to these social movements. At the end of the day, this force manipulates the direction of the demands. During the recent protests in Iraq and Lebanon, the third force was a relatively strong coalition, including Arab regimes, the United States, terrorist groups, Israel, members of some dissolved parties like he Baath party and internal mercenaries.
Another historical lesson to bear in mind is that in the Arab Spring, this incompatible third force succeeded to eliminate anti-arrogance approaches and gradually took the course of revolutions to the other way. This is the lesson that the countries of the Islamic world must keep well in mind. The revolutions in Egypt, Tunisia and Libya failed since they failed to contain and dominate over this hidden force.

Which Law Is Assange Above?
‘No-one is above the law’ Julian Assange has repeatedly been told in British courts. What that means in effect is, ‘You think you are above the law and we have run out of things to charge you with, so we are going to make an example of you for that’.
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has also told the media that ‘no-one is above the law’ so he, like his predecessors in both major parties, will not intervene with his British counterpart on Assange’s behalf. Gratuitously, he added a sexist crack about Assange’s friend and supporter Pamela Anderson, a Baywatch star. But he did not explain - and wasn’t asked - which law Assange thought he was above. He has broken no Australian law, Sweden has dropped its rape case, he has served his sentence for breach of bail in the UK, and the US has not yet extradited him on charges of espionage and treason. But he's still locked up. ahtribune.com/world/wikileaks/

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has condemned as a “disgraceful lie” the US’s expression of support for what he called “the Iranian people” after a series of violent riots hit a number of Iranian cities, saying Washington must, before anything, be responsible for waging economic terrorism and perpetrating crimes against humanity in dealing with Iranians. en.abna24.com/news//us-express

→Bolivia’s President Evo Morales was overthrown in a military coup on November 10. He is now in Mexico. Before he left office, Morales had been involved in a long project to bring economic and social democracy to his long-exploited country. It is important to recall that Bolivia has suffered a series of coups, often conducted by the military and the oligarchy on behalf of transnational mining companies. Initially, these were tin firms, but tin is no longer the main target in Bolivia. The main target is its massive deposits of lithium, crucial for the electric car. counterpunch.org/2019/11/13/af

→United States Budgetary Costs of the Post-9/11 Wars: $5.9 Trillion Spent and Obligated
The United States has appropriated and is obligated to spend an estimated $5.9 trillion (in current dollars) on the war on terror through Fiscal Year 2019, including direct war and war-related spending and obligations for future spending on post-9/11 war veterans
This number differs substantially from the Pentagon’s estimates of the costs of the post-9/11 wars because it includes not only war appropriations made to the Department of Defense – spending in the war zones of Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and in other places the government designates as sites of “overseas contingency operations,” – but also includes spending across the federal government that is a consequence of these wars. Specifically, this is war-related spending by the Department of State, past and obligated spending for war veterans’ care, interest on the debt incurred to pay for the wars, and the prevention of and response to terrorism by the Department of Homeland Security.

Corporations?
French corporations such as the construction company Bolloré, the oil giant Total and the telecoms group Orange maintain a massive presence in the ex-colonies.
Why are ex-colonies in Africa so important to France?
France is facing a second and final round in its presidential election. The winner has the daunting task of reviewing policy on Africa as the former colonies still play a significant role in French national life.
France's presidential candidates are all too well aware of the importance that their country attaches to Africa and the former colonies. In the middle of a domestic election campaign, Marine le Pen visited the West African state of Chad and Emmanuel Macron went to Algeria.
Views on the whys and wherefores of France's Africa policy differ hugely. Incumbent French President Francois Hollande maintains that France does not intervene in Africa to pursue its own interests, nor does it seek to change the rules of African politics or bring about regime change.
"France supports Africa because we believe it has great potential," Hollande said.
France's presence in Africa is focused largely on its former colonies. During a painful process of decolonization in the 1960s and 1970s, "La Grande Nation" never lost sight of its own interests. Use of the French language in the former French territories remains obligatory. There are still two currency unions in existence - the West African CFA franc and the Central African CFA franc - to which a total of 15 African states belong. Currency reserves are held in France's central bank. It is open to dispute whether the CFA offers greater advantages to France or the African states,

Two twatter linksPNG on the front page OP, come on. Before you share images from twitter, please re-host them. All you have to do is copy the url and post it into "Upload via URL" on catbox or another site- you don't even have to download the file locally. Images are easily embedded, I shouldn't have to leave Voat to see a PNG file.
