I was the attorney of Howard Winklevoss, the father of the Winklevoss twins. I was identified in The Social Network as the attorney who sent Mark the cease and desist letter that commenced the legal action and preserved the twins' copyright claim. I was the one (with the help of my son, whom I hired as my legal assistant) who collected and organized the email stream that formed the basis for laying out, later in the film, the allegations of the relationship that had been formed between Mark and the twins.
I was compensated by the twins from my work, and they are protected by the attorney client privilege with respect to my efforts on their behalf. I believe I can say, ethically, that the case did involve allegations that Mark "stole the idea for Facebook from the Winklevoss twins," but, if one is talking merely about "ideas," such an allegation would rarely be actionable in a court of law. The case was more about whether a contract or other legal relationship had been formed between Mark and the Winklevoss brothers, which led to allegations of related claims.
The case was settled before trial, and there is no use attempting to ascertain who was right and who was wrong. Both sides can make legitimate claims regarding that.
I think it can fairly be said that Mark ended up being good for Facebook and that the Twins received compensation for their efforts. As to the adequacy of the compensation, I would leave that up to the twins and to Mark to decide.

The Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) filed the motion to intervene ( PDF ) with the US District Court in Washington, DC on Friday, asking the court to let it and other privacy advocacy groups file comments in a "careful review of the fairness and adequacy" of the proposed settlement.
The agreement between Facebook and the FTC, as announced last week , includes a record-setting $5 billion fine and mandates changes to Facebook's reporting structure and oversight for privacy-related matters.

Cargo ship owned by JPMorgan Chase seized by US with 20 tons of cocaine
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- US authorities in Philadelphia seized a cargo vessel in June with nearly 20 tons of cocaine on board. The ship, as it turns out, is owned by a fund run by banking giant JPMorgan Chase.

A source close to the situation said on Wednesday that the ship, the MSC Gayane, is part of a transportation strategy fund run for the bank's asset management unit.
That means JPMorgan Chase does not have any operational control of the vessel, a Liberian-flagged ship that is run by the Swiss-based Mediterranean Shipping Company. The bank had no comment.
Law enforcement agents boarded the MSC Gayane on June 17 and found the cocaine, which is said to have a street value of about $1.3 billion.  abc7chicago.com/$13b-cocaine-s

The son of Nigeria’s Muslim leader Sheikh Ibrahim al-Zakzaky has warned about the deteriorating health of the 66-year-old cleric, who has been held in detention along with his wife for more than three years.

Zakzaky, the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, has been in detention since December 2015 after his residence in the city of Zaria was raided by Nigeria’s forces, during which he was beaten and lost his left eye. 
During the brutal crackdown, three of his sons lost their lives, his wife sustained serious wounds and more than 300 of his followers were killed.

Zakzaky was charged in April 2018 with murder, culpable homicide, unlawful assembly, disruption of public peace and other accusations. He has pleaded not guilty, vehemently rejecting all accusations brought up against him by his country's authorities. 
On Saturday, his son, Mohammad, said that he was shocked by his father’s worsening medical condition after visiting him, stressing that he needed to be immediately hospitalized as “large and dangerous quantities of lead and cadmium have been found in his blood.” 
Mohammad said the Nigerian authorities had not taken any action so far, and that they intend to murder his father. 
On Friday, the UK-based Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC) announced that it had received reports about Zakzaky’s health condition that it had further worsened. 
The IHRC — which had sent a medical team to Nigeria in April to examine the health condition of Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife — has already said the specialist treatment they require can only be fully accessed outside the African country. 
Separately, members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) had also said last week that the cleric had been poisoned in prison and required urgent medical care abroad. 
On Thursday, the IMN also said in a statement that the group’s leaders would hold Nigerian President Buhari Muhammadu responsible “if anything should happen to Zakzaky or his wife in detention.” 
“Their health status is of paramount significance to us all and Buhari must be held responsible should anything untoward happen to either the Sheikh or his wife,” the IMN said. 
“We are once again calling for the immediate release of our leader and his wife, whose health situations appear to be deteriorating very fast, especially in view of the reported poisoning they were subjected to in detention,” the statement further read.

May 28, 2019 "Information Clearing House" -  When history of the present US-Iran stand-off in the Persian Gulf is written, future scholars may note how it was Tehran that saved the day from full-scale war by its responsible diplomatic outreach to regional neighbors.
This weekend saw the usual feckless American vacillations resulting in even more military power being deployed in the Middle East where US troops already number some 70,000.
President Donald Trump has dispatched more squadrons of fighter jets, warships and missiles which he says are for “protection” against alleged Iranian threats. He also signed off $7 billion in arms sales to Saudi Arabia citing “an emergency.” Tehran condemned the latest US force escalation as “highly dangerous.”
