In a recent article falsely titled “The U.S.-China propaganda war is on hold, but not for long“, The Washington Post‘s Josh Rogin made a very interesting admission.
“The United States is now in dire need of medical supplies, many of which are coming from China,” Rogin said. “If China’s leaders are willing to stop telling lies about us, we can pause pointing out the most embarrassing truths about them.”
Wait, sorry, “us”? “We”?
Rogin wasn’t quoting any US officials. He was referring, in the first person plural, to the US government, because he apparently sees himself as a part of it. He sees himself and others like him as an extension of the US government’s narrative control campaign, the branch that is responsible for distributing “truths” in America’s propaganda war to counter China’s “lies”. He sees himself as a state propagandist.
Which, of course, he is. The devoutly neoconservative Rogin consistently advances hawkish narratives against nations which have resisted absorption into the blob of the US-centralized empire, and he is showing no hesitation in running point on the new escalations in the narrative control campaign against China. AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The United States has cut off millions of dollars for healthcare programs and other aid in Yemen amid fears of the spread of the new coronavirus in the impoverished Arab nation.

US President Donald Trump’s administration announced the decision on Friday, saying the move was a “necessary response to longstanding interference” by fighters from Yemen's Houthi movement.

Houthi fighters have been defending Yemen against a Saudi aggression and have managed to gain ground against foreign-backed militants.

The devastating military campaign which began in March 2015, coupled with a Saudi naval blockade, have killed hundreds of thousands of people and plunged Yemen into the world's worst humanitarian crisis.

The Saudi-led military campaign has also paved the way for the outbreak of epidemics, most notably cholera, in the impoverished country.

Many humanitarian groups and some members of US Congress had asked Washington not to cut off aid to Yemen at a time when the coronavirus pandemic is spreading across the Middle East.

The American video journalist Lindsey Snell revealed in a TV interview new details of links between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and terrorist groups, and his motives for sending mercenaries to Libya.
[Libya, 11 March 2020] – In an interview with al-Bilad TV show on News218 satellite channel, Lindsey Snell, who specialises in conflict and humanitarian crises, said that Erdogan supported the terrorist group al-Qaeda in Syria since its establishment, and has consistently provided the so-called Free Syrian Army with weapons.
“I spoke with a number of militants belonging to the Free Syrian Army factions who had received arms after crossing the Turkish borders into Syria. They were supposed to transfer those weapons to a certain city where they were to leave them, along with ammunition, in preparation for handing them over to al-Nusra Front,” disclosed Snell.
She noted that by adopting such a plan Turkey was supporting militant organizations, adding that the situation had become clearer recently, although al-Nusra Front changed its name twice and claimed that it separated from Al Qaeda in 2016. Al-Nusra Front is still classified as a terrorist organization in many countries, including Turkey.

TEHRAN (FNA)- Israel’s airstrikes in Syria only add to the tensions and destabilize the situation in the region, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday.
“We are concerned over Israel’s continued practice of delivering unilateral airstrikes on the Syrian territory in violation of the sovereignty of neighboring Arab nations,” she stated, according to TASS.
“The latest such attack was staged by Israeli warplanes on March 5 from Lebanon’s airspace. As a result, one Syrian soldier was killed and more than ten were wounded,” Zakharova added.
“We are convinced that such arbitrary military actions undermine regional stability and heighten tensions,” she stressed.
On March 5, Israeli warplanes delivered missile strikes at military facilities in Syria’s Central Homs and Southern Quneitra provinces. According to the Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC) website, at the court session on Monday, the judge decided that the trial be adjourned until April 23-24.

This is while the health conditions of the senior cleric and his wife, Zeenah, are deteriorating and they need immediate medical care, which has been denied by the Kaduna prison authorities.

Masoud Shajareh, head of the IHRC, told IQNA that many court sessions have been held on this case over the past four years, most of which, like Monday’s session, have aimed to waste time and prolong the detention of the two.

Nine women in Canada and California, mostly employees, have sued him or reported him to authorities alleging sexual harassment or assault since 1980. In addition, another nine former employees told The Times in interviews that he raped them, touched them inappropriately or proposed sex. -NYT
The Times interviewed the 10 women - most of whom allege Nygard raped them during "pamper parties" in the Bahamas, his home since 1986. The parties, which mostly took place on Sundays at his lavish estate, featured young women who would receive 'pedicures, massages, Jet Ski rides and endless alcohol,' according to the report.
Nygard has denied the charges, claiming that his adversary and neighbor in the Bahamas - hedge-fund billionaire Louis Bacon and his private investigators are behind the charges. Bacon says he wanted to get justice for the women.
