I do share the sentiment that it is careless to abandon masks in large events like conferences. I do take the blame for not having worn a mask myself, even after testing myself each morning.
But I refuse to be called out as a facist because of that. Facists don't allow any other narrative than their own. Tell me to wear a mask, and I'll gladly do so. I give my best to sympathize with you, to recognize your narrative and at least try to adapt. 1/2

I'm sure talking to the orga about enforcing masks would have been possible. Telling people to wear them is possible. But watching a conference without a mask mandate take place silently and then accusing the attendees of facism after it wrapped, yeah, that's unfair indeed.

@iamschulz It's weird how carelessly the term is tossed around these days, isn't it. It has lost all meaning.

@ech no it hasn't and fascism is still very much a problem.

@iamschulz Indeed, but it's hard to talk about the real problem these days: "fascism" is used to describe people not wearing a mask or people on the other side of a quibble about what age some book is appropriate for.

I assert that is not helpful: what term do I use to describe League of the South or American Identity Movement?

I challenge you to come up with a term that doesn't currently mean "someone who wrongthinks about single-family housing policy"?
