I’m not sure what’s more depressing

The fact a Supreme Court justice can be bought so easily

The fact that many people have access to Clarence Thomas on his “paid vacations”

The fact we have to multiply that by at least 38

Or the fact that it’s basically only one news organization that’s has been investigating this rampant corruption

@flexghost It's disheartening to consider which aspect is more dismaying. The ease with which a Supreme Court justice could be influenced through monetary means is troubling. Equally concerning is the accessibility some individuals have to Clarence Thomas during what are referred to as his "paid vacations." Adding to the distress is the realization that this issue might not be isolated, as it appears to involve at least 38 instances.namecombiner.info/

@jhon_don @flexghost I'm all for tighter standards in this area, but I'm curious: is there any reason to think any of Thomas' decisions were different as a result of these vacations with his rich friends?

I mean, it's not like he would have voted for Dobbs or something if nobody had taken him on a luxury vacation, right?

@ech @jhon_don

Check the decisions as they relate to donors not just every decision under the sun

@ech @jhon_don @flexghost

Would you consider participating in a very comfortable echo chamber for several weeks out of the year when not serving as justice as influencing the decisions during the rest of the year?

@evana @jhon_don @flexghost That just sounds like "going on vacation with family" (assuming they're like-minded). I'm not seeing your point.
