@lostarlingtonian @Strandjunker I think the only thing we know about him at this point is that he really doesn't like Kirk's views on... something.
The casings found indicate that he considers Kirk fascist? Hard to make sense of those, though. We may never know, like with Boelter; these two people seem to have a tenuous grip on reality.
It's probably not super important to make sense of why they did what they did.
@Strandjunker I predict this post will age like fine milk.
But you're right: focusing on the motives of a deranged person and using that to make conclusions about the moral standing of huge groups of people is stupid, and anyone who did that here or in previous incidents should feel bad about themselves.
@bobo_buffington @contrasocial @CaffeinatedBookDragon @pluralistic no I'm "deflecting" because jumping to conclusions about who the shooter was is a totally different thing than what I asked about, gravedancing/gloating. If this is too much nuance, let's call it a day.
@alper @bobo_buffington @contrasocial @CaffeinatedBookDragon @pluralistic I don't seem to, I think there was some confusion and Bobo answered a different question then the one I meant to ask.
@bobo_buffington @contrasocial @CaffeinatedBookDragon @pluralistic I was asking about something totally different; nevermind.
@bobo_buffington @contrasocial @CaffeinatedBookDragon @pluralistic I asked for names. Not seeing any here, unfortunately. Not sure the point of this post.
@lawyersgunsnmoney @karenattiah.bsky.social @pluralistic do you feel like there's somebody he should have flown flags at half staff for but didn't?
@karenattiah.bsky.social I certainly don't remember this kind of grave dancing though, fwiw
@contrasocial @CaffeinatedBookDragon @pluralistic who on the right gloated about it? Name names please. I need to know who on my side is an asshole like Cory Doctorow. #cleanhouse
@woo @cmconseils Even if PA is spewing anti-semitic hate, they should still be allowed to protest, as long as it stays peaceful. Hate speech laws literally means violent suppression of peaceful protests! It makes martyrs out of the haters, helping their cause.
@Fat_Farang @cmconseils In fairness to the court, I don't think they care. This simply isn't the reason they're trying to remove the mural.
@woo @cmconseils British people have an important legacy of freedom of speech/religion/press/etc, and of their government periodically squelching those rights, like they've been doing dramatically recently. I hope this means the pendulum is going back in the right direction!
@QasimRashid I'd recommend taking this post down; surely you've learned more by now about this organization, and how membership in it means ~nothing. Leaving it up harms your credibility.
(Completely aside from how weird it is, generally, to draw this kind of equivalency between scientific expertise vs. the question at hand.)
@randahl You realize this started during Biden's term, yes?
@CodeWalker @Jain Your post would be more convincing if you presented an argument 😂
@QasimRashid @CaptMorgan The good captain is not, of course, really playing devil's advocate, but instead refocusing the discussion on the problem that matters. Your OP is just weird, to be honest; I almost always disagree with you about everything but usually your posts are much better than this one!
Killing innocents in war is like the worst thing, whether they're Christian or Muslim. Unfortunately it's also unavoidable, unless you aren't in a war at all. Can anyone point me to some kind of analysis of whether IDF is doing this more than most armies that have been dragged into a war they didn't start?
@EricFielding @RickiTarr 2 chemists walk into a bar. One says "I'll have some H2O." The second says, "I'll have some H2O too". The second chemist died.
@randahl Maybe he'll try this approach in Russia since it seems to be working so well with Iran.
@IvarGierveld @randahl I think you might not have the whole picture here.
