I was thinking about switching to another server instance, but I didn't see that one coming.

@0xC0DE6502 I see most of the retro folk are there, but maybe it's not really needed to move... Seems to work fine except the federated and local timelines.

@ezcontents I was thinking the same thing but I really don't think it matters. I prefer checking my Home timeline anyway. One caveat though: you can easily export your posts/toots but you can't import them into your moved account (I think! Please prove me wrong)

@0xC0DE6502 Yes.. I think you are right. petterhans posted a flowchart on the birdsite how the visibility works.

@ezcontents @0xC0DE6502 in a way you're being helpful by promoting stuff from oldbytes onto other instances. Or something.

@mfitzp @0xC0DE6502 Hmm.. ok. So it might be better if I stay where I am.

@ezcontents @0xC0DE6502 sacrifice yourself the the Greater Good(tm)😀

I actually moved from oldbytes because I was curious to see what effect instance has on the timelines. Based on this highly scientific sample of one, I think as long as you find your local timeline vaguely interesting you're in a good place.

On each instance you can check out the "See what's happening" on the homepage to see Local there (though oldbytes seems to show Federated).

@mfitzp @0xC0DE6502 Ok. Thanks. I have an account there now. Will have to see if I decide to move there or stay where I am.
