Here's the big problem I have with Mastodon.

- there are far too many interesting people

- there is far too much diversity of interest

- there is a reality of following too many people

- everyone is posting such interesting stuff.

I'm seriously not getting stuff done since my timeline is alive. I am following too many people, but wow, the short little bios just draw you in.

Its' alive!

The wheel turns; the summer ends.
The light departs, the cold descends,
And we are left to hold the light
Against the cold and longest night.

There's feature I'd like to see in Mastodon, and you might help me advocate for it:

Ability to add / edit alt text in images after they get posted.

I post a lot of photos, often on the fly from my phone. I can go back later when I have a keyboard and time to add titles and captions, but I have not found a way to do that with alt text. If there's a way to do that now, I would love to know how.

Biz Stone, co-founder of Twitter and Medium, is now on Mastodon

Welcome @biz!

I was a bit skeptical at first, but it feels like Mastodon in now approaching escape velocity.

Made me realize the idea of "micro-blogging" (if you can still call it that) is actually bigger and distinct from the company that popularized it.

I think I might have done this wrongly...

"Likes are not used to surface content to other people in your network, so if you want other people to see something, boost it, rather than liking it."

So, like/favorite is only to show appreciation for a toot, without making it more visible? I guess I should just use boost as the default.

Journalist profiles on the Washington Post can now include Mastodon links. Here's what it looks like: washingtonpost.com/people/drew

Why are grocery prices skyrocketing? Monopoly power.

Kroger brands:
Ralphs
Dillons
Food 4 Less
Fred Meyer
Harris Teeter
King Soopers
Mariano’s

Albertsons brands:
Safeway
Acme
Haggen
Jewel-Osco
Shaw’s
Pavilions

The proposed Kroger-Albertsons merger would make prices even worse.

It's the elves that taste so gross.

Oh hell yeah. @mozilla is launching a Mastodon instance in early 2023! I’m very excited for this. Mozilla is really good at what they do. Firefox has over 200M monthly active users, and with any luck they’ll build better support for the fediverse into Firefox itself. Mastodon will greatly benefit from easy to use professionally run instances that can handle massive scaling blog.mozilla.org/en/mozilla/mo

Ill be posting some past work on here, seeing the great response from my current project. This is an 1959 IBM 1401, 1:16 scale, scratch build, 100% hand made
