Ok, this is cool: a team of biologists worked out that turtles can talk. The hatchlings even talk to each other in the egg to coordinate their hatching. Turtle talk is at frequencies not very audible for humans and it can take hours for some species to reply to each other.

“Had we had a bit more expansive imaginations, we might have caught this earlier,” said Karen Bakker, a fellow at Harvard’s Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study.

Nicotiana sylvestris. Will grow quite large if you feed it; I have lovely memories of one summer when they formed a forest and bloomed at almost nose-height; the perfume was almost overwhelming on still summer nights. Downside, we were pulling up volunteer seedlings EVERYWHERE the next spring - the seed is minuscule and blows around quite easily.

I'm honestly surprised by how many decent people are still hanging out on Twitter as if a wingnut didn't pay twice its value to game the algos and turn it into a red pilling machine.

If you're still there and just go inactive, you increase the likelihood that Twitter will go bankrupt--Elmo loaded it up with debt and scared away most advertisers--and it will be run by people who aren't on a mission to combat some dumb right-wing conspiracy theory about big tech suppressing conservatives.
