#PeerReview has proven to be an abysmal, unfixable, no-good, bad, stinking, wasteful, harmful experiment.

It is high time to just abolish peer review (and thereby, abolish the un-meritocratic power structures and the profiteering leeching us, which depend on false premises of peer review). Abolish it now.

@janneseppanen so what are your thoughts on the new elife approach then ? (obviously they also want money) - I still think Peerage was a good thing, but the world probably not ready for it yet

@gernot I have not followed new developments. Trying to have a sustainable business model is not bad in itself, quite the opposite.

As for Peerage. It was a doomed attempt to fix some aspects (quality, efficiency of reviews) from within the parameters of an unfixable, fundamentally unsound culture. I no longer believe in peer review, at all.
