A friend just gave me this wonderful analogy about elections:
“Elections aren’t an uber taking you to exactly where you want to go, they’re a train carrying a mass of people to the station nearest your destination.
You have to board the train that’s going in the same direction you want to go, even if it doesn’t take you to the street, or even the town you’re wanting to reach.”

When creating a software system for a business, it's important to understand not only the terms a domain uses when it categorises things, but also the relationships between the categories.
Whether you are performing traditional entity relationship modelling or domain-driven design, it's not enough just to identify the vocabulary of a domain; you also have to look at the connections.
My turn. I'm now a Java 21 certified professional. See my blog post about the experience at https://www.selikoff.net/2024/07/24/passed-jeannes-experience-taking-the-java-21-certification-exam-1z0-830/
When you feel lost about what to spend learning time on about software development, a map can show you the way forward.
And here you can find many.

I love this story from @tastapod https://dannorth.net/2023/09/02/the-worst-programmer/ - it's a great illustration of why the *TEAM* should be the agent of work, not the individual. ht @ez & @carnage4life

I have a challenge for each of you on that list: Send one #Java toot in the coming days.

Great how #JavaBubble has developed...
It started with a simple table in markdown and now it has its own domain with a list of people and different output formats.
