One of the reasons I made this instance and support Mastodon as a place to move to from Twitter, is because its community instance/federation approach allows us to be together-apart. I think this video explains this really well.
"We should regret our mistakes and learn from them, but never carry them forward into the future with us."
The Anne of Green Gables Chronicles
Canadian Author Lucy Maud Montgomery was born #OTD in 1874. Most of her novels were set on Prince Edward Island, and those locations within Canada's smallest province became a literary landmark and popular tourist site – namely Green Gables farm, the genesis of Prince Edward Island National Park.

Another unique T. pallida seedling flowering for the first time. The seed parent was 'Purpurea', but the shape of those petals reminds me of 'Shadow Hill'.
"AJUDE UMA CIENTISTA A SOBREVIVER NA NASA]
[#HELP A #SCIENTIST TO #SURVIVE AT #NASA]
(English version at the end)
Além disso, preciso me alimentar.
ME AJUDEM A ME MANTER NA NASA PELOS PRÓXIMOS 5 MESES!!

[HELP A SCIENTIST SURVIVE AT NASA]
Hello, my name is Raquel, I am doing a PhD in #Biotechnology at USP, working with #Astrobiology. I was selected to do a sandwich doctorate at the NASA Ames Research Center, in California, USA for 6 months, funded by CAPES (research funding agency in Brazil). I already came here, but I went through 2 scams here when I was looking for a house to live in and I lost a lot of money (all the money that was left in the stock from the scholarship and some money saved up that my mother had). I stayed here in October at a lab colleague's house, paying a little less than what she charges, as she empathized with my situation, but I could only stay for 1 month. And then I came to the NASA Lodge (a set of apartments within NASA for researchers to live). But the daily rate here is $50 for interns, which is $1500/month. And I only receive $1300 from CAPES to stay here. Besides, I need to eat. I did the math and I would need $650/month more than what I receive from the scholarship to stay here (literally just considering the rest of the rent and food, which would consist of 30 lunch boxes per month). I thought about giving up and going back to Brazil, but CAPES demands that I RETURN the money they already gave me (which I already spent on tickets to come, the first month's rent and food). And I literally don't have any money for either of them, my mother can't help me anymore because what she had saved has already been spent on all of this, we don't have family or friends with the financial means to lend us and I don't know what to do to literally survive here.
So I made this crowdfunding, with the hope that people will empathize, donate any amount and share it with as many people as possible, to help me in some way. In the comments I can go into more detail and clarify any doubts that may arise. But that's basically it.
HELP ME STAY AT NASA FOR THE NEXT 5 MONTHS!!
