I honestly don't understand how people car use controllers without aftermarket stick extensions/grips. #gaming
@paulomalley exactly right :)
Mastodon is the only site where some user is guaranteed to gripe about a paywalled NYT article every time. Folks, ads are dead. Subscriptions are what feed our families. I give away a lot of free links. You can get free links with an email (regi-walk is not paywall, so read closely). Paywall is easy to get around with research. You do you. Just don’t reply with a complaint. It’s kind of rude. Read something else. It’s a big old internet.
@buzzle I wondered the same thing. I think the best outcome would have been for Google to open-source the firmware.
Another great issue of FREEZE64 'zine delivered today! Fantastic new column by Andrew Braybrook inspired me to dig out one of my favourite games of his to play later! #C64 #commodore64 @EC64 #freeze64

@yuliyan @DopeGhoti I fully agree with you, but sadly that's not how normal people think. They think about big companies, they jump into the Apple, Google, or Microsoft boat.
@gpowerf @DopeGhoti To be clear, I don't hope for Google to expand ChromeOS. That would be a terrible choice for privacy. It's just, they invest in UX and this is key for mass success.
My personal vision is a mostly locked down ChromiumOS based system, with the ability to run containerized Linux apps but with focus on privacy and security. Just like GrapheneOS compared to stock Android. Mobile-grade security, desktop-grade ux. Wishful thinking.
Haters gonna hate.

@yuliyan @DopeGhoti if a few countries adopt ChromeOS for education it could easily get there. And once kids grow up using it they will no doubt continue to use it as they grow up.
@yuliyan I don't think you are far off the mark, I like ChromeOS a lot and in fact, I'm using it to type this :) However, it can't decide what it is. Sure it is a browser-based OS, but what makes it really useful to many is that it also has Android and Linux containers. This makes it have a weird disjointed file system and I think that normies find that a bit strange. Which is why many of them don't stray away from the core browser-based part.
I think a pure Android-based desktop OS would be less confusing to many people.
Netflix has announced two more titles that will be arriving for Netflix Games this month and one of them is a cult classic indie title....

@retrosponge I would say unwilling to commit to their ideas instead :)
If you have old #Stadia controllers around that you haven't updated to Bluetooth don't forget that the update tool is being #KilledByGoogle in December. Update now!
One more Elon post.
Rolling Stone has a rather scathing opinion piece published today that speculates Twitter will go poof very soon. They detail many of Elon's bonehead moves, as well as his personal decent into madness, racism, bigotry, and conspiracy theories.
This is my fun social media account, I will post a lot of video game stuff (mostly old or cloud gaming) and some work stuff.
If I post an image with no Alt text it is because the image is just there for decoration and doesn't provide any extra meaning to the toot.
