I must say I really appreciate this feature in Mastodon for those times when someone insists on carrying on an argument way too long.

Every time they show up and kill or capture a mass shooter, or they kill themseves, all the newspaper stories end by quoting the local police saying, “There is no longer any threat to the public.”

They’ve told us there was no longer any threat to the public 203 times so far this year.

I’m starting to think there might still be a danger to the public.

If you tag a profile in Mastodon (ex: @fediversenews, then include the URL to that profile, Mastodon redirects the URL to the profile.

This is why this URL will go to mastodon.social instead of venera.social:

I have a feeling that my generation (Millennials) will be the last to define themselves by consumption.

We bought the Yeah Yeah Yeahs t-shirt, acquired the Basquiat print, ate the famed avocado toast.

But everything is becoming more ethereal nowadays. People don’t own things. We don’t even rent them.

We do something even more impermanent: we stream.

People are really looking at the Fediverse with Western eyes and aren't considering the fact that in Japan, #Misskey is many peoples' first exposure to the Fediverse.

#Calckey is building on what Misskey has already made. But really, Calckey is exposing the West to the world of *key apps.
