@groundie That's a feature of Mastodon 4.0. Your instance's version is fairly old, and 4.0 is still only a release candidate so I don't know if your admin plans to update to it at any point. They'd also need to get API keys for one of the translation services supported and get all that set up for the button to appear which they may not feel like bothering with.
