Perhaps this is where a technology like Tim Berners-Lee's Solid project would help; where you have a single identity and agree to 'share' that with fediverse apps like Mastodon, Pixelfed, etc. I don't know if that's the answer, but I feel like more work on making it possible to fully own your identity on the fediverse would be good.

Alan Bates is already the folk hero of the Horizon IT debacle, but his inquiry evidence confirms that in Bates the Govt & Post Office picked the wrong adversary; his steely determination already depicted on TV to devastating effect, is one of a key reason successive Govt.s & PO management teams have been unable to bury this injustice.

While nothing about the actions of the PO & Govt. in this case now surprise me, this a picture of what is wrong with Britain.

I can’t help feeling that giving some of my grandkids a BBC micro, and cassette player, and the BASIC manual would help them learn so much. In the same way that you wouldn’t want someone to operate on your kidneys without a good general medical education covering blood, bones & the rest of the human system, I don’t think we want climate interventions trialed by people who don’t understand how Earth works & only consider the local problem and not the whole system it is an integral part of.

@bloor Discussed this at my radio society today and the suggestion was that it is confirmation bias at its very best.

I’m still pissed at Elon for two things:

1) making me learn how to spell Mastodon
2) that he didn’t buy and ruin LinkedIn instead
